Back to the OP. Paul is the QBs coach, so I want him on the sideline.
People forget this team has no true QBs coach anymore. Paul was WRs, then we hired Cink to take over that spot. When we lost Garrick and hired Paul to take his place, everybody said having no QBs coach and 2 WRs coaches wasn't a big deal because Bobby was really the QBs coach anyway. Well, that might have worked out fine, but now we don't have bobby either.
The QBs are going to need all the help they can get from the staff without Bobby around. If Paul's in charge of working with them, I would want him in a position to have as much contact as possible with them.

I don't know how they'll decide to handle the situation but that's a valid point.

my brother has been to a lot of practices and Paul is basically running the whole offensive show and Haynes is running the defense.
Maybe Paul can have a skype account or an iPhone app to text Bobby at the apartment about what plays we should run. Or they can conference call in and draw up the first half game plan.

That wasn't what got Bobby fired. Petrino got fired for two things.
1. He used his influence to basically circumvent the hiring process to get JD a coveted job; one that I might add has frequent and close contact with the head coach.
2. He lied to Jeff Long in order to cover it up.
Think what you want about this situation but Bobby Petrino knows who fired him and it wasn’t Long, it was Bobby Petrino that fired Bobby Petrino. I no idea whether he is in close contact with brother Paul or JLS not but if he is it’s because he really wants to see the players he recruited be successful as possible.
