Hell even Nick Saban lasted out the year. Real men don't quit in the middle of the job. Little pu$$y boys run away crying.

Arkansas fans trying to defend this only makes them look totally out of touch with reality.

you whinny pussies bitching about Petrino are just jealous your team does not have him. He will be at Arkansas for a while and as long as he is there. LSU, MSU, Ole Miss, Florida will lose regularly and Auburn/ Alabama will be dog fights which could go either.
A shift in power has occurred. Deal with it, LSU use to suck so it is time for them to cycle back to it.

and for the record, we've only sucked for one decade in our entire history and that's not coming back in our lifetimes.

I'd tell everyone who condems Petrino to first get out of school, have a family and work for a living before casting stones.
NFL is big business. People quit and get fired. Neither party is really a victim.
What the Falcons never admit is i) they told BP that Vick had no chance of going to jail, ii) Blank told Petrino he could take the job, until Vick was convicted, and iii) there were a lot of cancers in that lockerroom they got rid of after the season.
Question: How many Falcons players on the team today played under Petrino? (I don't know the answer, just curious and figure one of you will look it up)

this. Saban quit in the right way. He lasted the full year and still got a great job so it proves it can be done if you do it the right way.

Neither you nor I will ever really know what happened, but if you're being honest with yourself and see a guy like Mike Zimmer, who has no deeper ties to the Falcons than Petrino and a VERY well respected NFL Coach, comes out and says the things about Petrino that he did, you would admit that how he handled himself was almost certainly not on the up and up. Why Arkansas fans insist on trying to defend the indefensible is beyond me. Why does it even matter to you?

Anyone going to look this up? I would, but I'm lazy.
I admit it.

well say hello to the Cotton Bowl instead of a BCS bowl. That is mediocre.

I'll tell you Petrino did not handle that situation as well as he should. But the Falcons are not victims. Why is it ok for them to politely can a coach with 3 games left in the season but a coach cannot quit?
Mike Zimmer needs to wear his big boy pants working in the NFL. People quit, get fired, get traded, hold out, etc......
That and Zimmer's a football coach. Not exactly a profession that requires a high level of sophistication. Zimmer's rant showed us much more about him than it did Petrino.

10-2 in the SEC is a good year I don't care who you are. If we win we'll be 11-2 and finish in the Top Ten. Yeah, real mediocre

I'm quite sure he knows a lot more about what happened than either of us and he also knows a lot more about the profession of being a coach and is thus 10 times more qualified to comment on it than either of us even if he HADN'T been involved.
I don't know Bobby Petrino. I have no idea, nor do I really care, what kind of person he is. And even if all the nasty things people have said about Petrino are 100% true, I don't believe that one situation (no matter how poorly handled) defines who a person is forever. I just don't understand why Arkansas fans INSIST on acting like he did nothing wrong when clearly the norms of his profession say that he did. Everyone else in the football world can see that but y'all.

The thread is about BP's committment to Arkansas. It seems the defense is in his actions to us.
Debating "it" is arbitrary, no? Falcon and SEC fans see only what they were allowed to see, which is fine with us. He locked himself down with what he wants and that's not only telling, it's all that matters.
BP likes the wheelhouse of this Ship. Get used to it.

Link me to one post I've made that I said anything about BP leaving Arkansas.
