Remember the rumors in 2006 when he was still with the Dolphins? We kept hearing stuff and no one could believe it. Sure enough, it was all true

I wldnt say no one believed it. Chris Mortensen said in an interview on Christmas Eve that if Bama didn't have a coach named by the time the Dollhins season ended then he expected Saban to take the job.

I don't think Saban knows what he's going to do at this point nor are the Browns 100% certain to ask.

Terry publicly talking about how Kirby should follow Nick definitely is a little more interesting now, though.

The Browns GM is the first domino to fall. If they hire Lombardi then they are going to make a serious push. At that point it will just depend on whether or not Saban really is bothered at his showing with the Dolphins. If they don't hire Lombardi then this is all over.

All in all I say 25% chance this happens. A long shot but a week ago I would have said 5% and a month ago 0%.

Nobody expected it? Nick Saban was connected to the Alabama job as early as November of 2006. The speculation of Mike Shula being fired had the Birmingham News churning out "potential coaches". Keven Scarbinsky had a piece on the possibility of Nick Saban taking the job. That was Thanksgiving weekend of 2006.

What's funny? It's a fact. It's easy for Bama fans to remember bc the search was in its 4th week at that point and most wanted a hire named quickly. After Mort said that, most wanted to wait to see about Saban.

Also, why hasn't any one commented that Cris Carter said he knows Saban and doesn't seem him leaving Bama? Or why hasn't anyone mentioned the fact that Saban doesn't like Mike Lombardi and is extremely unlikely to work for a team with him as GM?

Speculation is fun for those tired of Bama and Saban, but I'm afraid you'll have to just settle for trolling bc it isnt happening.

If you really think there's no chance at all then you're completely delusional.

This shite is getting old. A rumor is put out there by a Cleveland radio show. Some Browns beat writer picks it up and then the Boston Globe comments on it. It starts getting fanned on message boards by scared rivals. It gets big enough to ask Terry Saban related questions at a Nick's Kids' function. That fans it even more.

This. Lombardi is a twit. There is no way a hot shot coach like Saban would want to work under ML.
