Not hidden, but not really talked about as much, BBQ house has an amazing breakfast. As does byrons BBQ. While neither are hidden gems for auburn, I feel neither is known for their breakfast, and both are outstanding.
I've been meaning to go to the new auburn diner out near the mall, just haven't gotten around to it.
Eta: I know it's been said, but willies is the best late night food. Delivery till like 4am thur-sun, it's great after a long day of drinking. Chicken finger sub is killer, but the cheese tots and honey mustard is what makes it.

Not only do they not ship it, you get it in a gallon jug that they have cleaned out and ripped the label off of.
But I don't mind.

My dad found dreamland in the 80's. Somehow he ended up getting 2 bleech bottles full of the sauce. Trying to get it through security to fly it home at BHM has a bit of a struggle.

As for Nashville, Noshville Deli (yes noshville with an O) is amazing and one of the few places you can order real matzah/matzo ball soup in the south. There's Arnold's and way out towards Franklin you have Loveless Cafe. Lot more for Nashville but those are some of my favorites.
add Bricks Cafe to that too.

Please tell me yall are joking, that place is awful. The food looks like dog food, I usually go to papitos but I have to be craving Mexican... But Oxford has the worst Mexican and Chinese food I've ever had.
When I eat Mexican I eat Tequilla's next to Kroger. No Mexcian in Oxford is great and Tequilla's is never crowded and I enjoy their taco supreme.

Yep. Packed every weekend.
Also I think square pizza is under rated. It's a little expensive but it stays open late and it's a closer walk than chicken on a stick.

I agree that Oxford doesn't do ethnic well, but Milagros is pretty good. It looks odd because it, along with Mundo Latino or whatever it's called, is more authentic Mexican food.
Here's a hint, Mexican's don't actually eat flour tortillas covered in shredded cheddar and sour cream. They eat shite that looks fricking strange. For example, the mole negro at Milagros (a brown sauce used to cover braised meats) looks, literally, like diarrhea, but it's spicy, sweet, and very savory.
What they make is more authentic, meaning it looks gross. What should matter, though, is the taste.
Regarding the Chinese food comment, I agree that Oxford doesn't have any good east Asian food (people who think the sushi at Two Stick is good are liars), BUT the Indian restaurant on Jackson Avenue was pretty a solid (is it still there?) spot for south Asian cuisine.
I had a buddy who loved eating there with me because we'd progressively get our food spicier and spicier every time we went. The guy who worked there recognized us and kept telling us that he was going to eventually cook it for us so spicy that we'd be like real Indians after a while. Apparently, their definition of "spicy" makes Americans cry like babies and shite their pants.
EDIT: I'm gonna add "the Indian place whose name I can't remember" to the list of hidden gems.
