In Oxford, apparantly there is some hole in the wall place on Jackson across from the gas station/post office. My girlfriend's roomate said they had the best steak. Anyone in Oxford know about this?

The gas station right next to the police station? That restaurant is literally a trailer with a screen door and has weird hours. It's probably bad arse.

Pesto Cafe.

It's a must to go there every single time I go home.

I agree with you that it is better than Dreamland. There's an even better place than it (imo) in Birmingham that I don't know the name of unfortunately. Looks kind of like Archibalds and it was the best BBQ I think I've ever had. Was with some Bama friends and we stumbled upon it and they can't ever remember the name of it either. Those hole-in-the-wall BBQ places are always great.

I wouldn't have known it was there until someone pointed it out to me. Apparantly they have kick arse steaks though. Me? I'll stick with Boure

Do you know which part of Birmingham? There are a couple of places like that and they are better than any of the big better known places.

I prefer Memphis first and KC second. Both are drastically better than Carolina in my eyes. Everyone here in Atlanta swears by Fat Matt's but personally I am not a huge fan of it.

It's good for Atlanta BBQ but if you ever visit some of the hole in the wall places across the south you won't want to go back.

I'm a big fan. I used to frequent there quite often. Older crowd, but it is a piano bar after all.

In Tuscaloosa, I'm a big fan of Wilhagans and the Bear Trap. Bayou Seafood, especially on kareoke night, used to be my favorite place but it shut down.

Any Auburn people tried that new place "Esthers"? It's some kind of Catfish place, it's on South College behind the Burger King. I see a lot of people going in and out.

In Huntsville? Gibsons BBQ and the Outback Steak House here is where train their people. It's Out-standing.

Yea, i've been there. Ezelle's Catfish Cabin. Its really good. Catfish is superb, shrimp and grits are out of this world. You also get free cole slaw and hush puppies with your meal. definitely worth checking out.
