Take it from a Spurs fan, I get where you're coming from
Our teams do operate in small markets, though, by strict definition, in spite of their success.
And WCA I swear to God if you bring up your NBA fandom...

So maybe we should ask UTSA to join because of the success of the Spurs?

why? The thunder have been praised for how well they've done because they are in one of the smallest NBA markets
that goes back to my argument, about the sec selling itself, from a marketing standpoint, when teams like ou, and the big name sec teams play. tv rating are going to be huge, when those teams play, so i'm not buying it, when you say that ou would bring nothing to the table, because they are a small market team. their tradition alone, makes them very valuable.

That may be, but they quietly had a successful offseason

Its ok. I still got Kobe is 4-2 against Timmy

Kobe missing the playoffs more often during the Timmy era assuage the sting tho
And you know his fragile arse narrowly avoided dat broom in '13

Kobe Bryant $23,500,000
No amount of offseason success will make this go away WCA

Let's approach it this way. If you were the National Hockey League and were interested in starting a network which market are you interested in more?
1) Detroit: smaller city yet a bigger following & interest in the sport
2) Houston: larger city but non to minimum following of the sport

Houston. 100 times out of 10
Its not like that comparison works though. The NHL already has a network that is available nationally

That's not a very good analogy
I understood where you were trying to go though.
