In a nutshell:

If Clemson fans wanna live and die by the fact that their receiving corps is just as good as Alabama’s, then they need to take into the fact that most of Trevor’s campaign and hype was solely based on post college potential. The NFL. All of his receivers are fricking humongous and have constantly bailed out atrociously thrown balls even in the 44-16 game. He has a strong arm and great size and everything, but that alone won’t beat Aaron Donald chasing you down and Donta Hightower flying at your arse at 40 mph 13 games in a row in the freezing cold.

Tua has his flaws but he has shown that he has expanded his game and progressions and Trevor has experienced some regression now that people have a lot of film on him. I’d argue both teams have fought similar competition with TAMU edging SCAR of course, but still.

Anyone out there that puts Trevor on a pedestal because of whatever hype he had and all of his NFL potential and bashed Tua for having an elite receiving corps/backing cast is an absolute clown.

I’m more interested in whether Jalen beats Tua in the playoffs.

Give me the guy who hasn’t choked or gotten hurt in his biggest games. Every time.

Tuna throws slants and flats.

His receivers do the rest. (See today)

On the rare occasion he throws a ball over 20 yards - it’s usually just heaving the ball and hoping his speedy WR gets under it.

That’s the truth.

Do you mean that one that's only had 1 of them, and had an O and D line that got 0 credit in the game?

You're nuts.

Here's a detailed analysis and film breakdown from Matt Wyatt, former Miss St. QB. Mr. Wyatt has done MANY game breakdowns of ALL SEC teams, and IMHO, does a very good job at it. Every week, one of my favorite youtube pursuits is to see if he did a film breakdown of the games I was interested in that previous weekend. Well worth following.

https://youtu.be/-mDcCUUh1rg

I could have posted a different analysis but this is the 4th qtr of the championship game against Georgia - not because it was a championship, but because Tua was very young at the time. He's only gotten better since then.

And regarding Tua vs Trevor... you pick'em. With Tua, you will get more polish, better progressions, and definitely better accuracy. Maybe better intangibles. With Trevor, you will get size and durability, he just looks like a prototypical NFL QB with a strong arm. He definitely relies more on his receivers to make great catches, Tua relies on his receivers to do more AFTER the catch. Both have had great seasons and won championships under pressure.

So overall, I think it would depend on the makeup of your NFL team and which guy would best fit your system. Tua reminds me of Russell Wilson, and Trevor reminds me of John Elway. But that's just me (maybe there are better analogies). I don't think you'd go wrong either way.

Final note - I was really impressed with SC's QB Hilinski today. I think he has a bright future ahead of him.

yes, Tua is limited in his ability and potential, I'm not sure why we let Jalen go when he is clearly the better quarterback. When LSU plays ALA we will see who the better player is, kind of like when Fournette and Henry were Heisman candidates and Leonard was so superior

Tua looks better early, but I expect that Lawrence will snap out of his funk soon — he’s too talented and the ACC schedule shouldn’t put too much pressure on him.

These arguments are like listening to those stupid arse Mike and Mike shows where every single thing in sports had to be ranked on an all-time best list.

They're both great, have great receivers, great lines to give them plenty of time, great backs to hand the ball, great defenses to get them the ball, and great staffs calling plays.

There is no honest take on anything on this board any longer. It’s just biased drivel against whatever team the poster loves to hate on disguised in pseudo-intelligence about the game of football.

It is all about who has the better OL. Tua struggles under pressure and Lawrence is tall enough to sit in the pocket better. The stat issue doesn't tell the whole story.

Trevor will be in the NFL for many years.

Tua will end up just like every other running QB in the end.

Tua struggles under pressure when he has 1 knee and a hurt ankle. When he has been healthy and can move around some(First 5 games last year and First 3 this year) he has been flawless.

Uhhhhh yeah it does. Alabama and Clemson have faced near identical competition and Trevor is struggling mightily now that people have tape on him.

Neither team has face any elite pressure. It will happen more for Tua than Lawerence in the future.

So why does nick saban and every scout in America think otherwise? If he was better than tua he would be starting. Period.
