One could argue that Saban should be #1 at two different schools as well, considering that Miles owed quite a bit of his success to what Saban left in place.
Spurrier would be the best coach at SC just based on what he did at SC. It's not close. A lot of that is because they've never really had a good coach that coached more than a few years.
If Nick had left to go to the NFL, been a Marty Schottenheimer/Jim Mora Sr. type in success there, no one would say Saban was LSU's best coach. The Bama success factors heavily in giving Saban the no. 1 spot for LSU.
The thought that Saban would have won more national titles at LSU would almost solely be based on what he did at Bama.
Last season was 9-3. Only 40% of his seasons with double digit wins.

It's not just that - the next three years of success at LSU were built around the core of players he recruited his final season. If the current transfer rules had been in place back then, I seriously doubt Miles has nearly the level of success he has those first three years of his time there.
I just feel that Saban had to rebuild both LSU and Alabama; Miles inherited a massive amount of talent.
Saban inherited an LSU team that went 3-8 the before he arrived and an Alabama team that went 6-7 (and both teams had a COMBINED 3 conference wins)

Yeah, you can ask it the same question an hour later and the rankings will be changed a bit.
Interesting, I see my answers have changed from yesterday, and they still can't spell Charley Pell.

Just not how it works. Les had more success at LSU. That's how it works. And Miles 2011 was built completely by him. Saban was there five years. LSU's got too good of a program to name one coach with five years coaching and one championship as it's best coach all-time.
