I’m not gonna say 11 wins but we are absolutely stacked on Defense across the board. Offensively we have an accurate Qb n Burrow. He is athletic as well. His brother who seems genuine said he can run a 4.6 40. Good but not great arm. He will be able to distribute the ball. RB is good but no way u replace a LF & Guide really. But don’t sleep on Clyde Edwards-Helaire. He is a Bowling ball with 4.5 speed and elite cutting ability. Very tough to tackle. We’re good at Wr but will be great once the freshman phenoms get a few games in. No one is gonna run over this team. I see 4-5 gsmes that will be close. So I could see 10 wins or 7. Will be interesting to see what happens. A lot of parity this year imo

Those first 3 are crucial, and if the games are lost badly that will have an obvious effect.

I really see LSU beating the shite out of Miami. I'm just not impressed with Miami -- nothing against them -- I just think LSU comes out firing on their arse. Turnover chain is great and all but not really a big deal when you're getting turnovers against shitty ACC teams. People forget they got run off the field by a decent (but not great) Clemson team.

No. We have the best Defensive Line in the SEC. Period.

An all American DT (Simmons), the SEC Sack Leader from last season (Sweat), a guy who people say is just as good as those two (Rivers), Gerri Green has been playing linebacker, but he's been moved to DE. People project that we may have 4-5 defensive lineman drafted this year. We have veteran talent at linebacker, an improved secondary (including last year's SEC Interception leader). A darkhorse Heisman candidate at QB, a 1,000 yard rusher and another running back who is even better, improved WR's, and a top 3 SEC Offensive Line.

I think the ceiling is 8. I can't see them beating Auburn, Georgia, State, or Alabama. To me, they are a 7-5 team, losing to those 4 and Miami. But I don't think Miami is a sure loss, so that's why I say the ceiling is 8, not 7.

You dont even have the best Dline in the SEC West. Bama has the #1 DT and its not up for debate.

Fitz a Hiesman candidate? LOL. Dude passed almost as good as LSU's Etling last year and he runs half as good as Dak.

1,000 yard rusher? No way!!!!

How come Herbie did not see what you are seeing? Maybe the coaching staffs is where he did not see that will make the difference?

Do you think Herbie or any analyst knows the full 11 on both sides of any team?

Sure they could probably name every player on Bama or Clemson's team, but there just aint enough time to do that. They glance and move on.

LSU is top 3 in the SEC right now with current talent.

Sure, we could literally suck arse, but you just cannot count on that with this talent.

I agree if MSU plays consistently like they did against us and Bama. But in the end LSU still finished ahead of state. I was surprised albeit brutal b2b away opponents but still. I love the Moorehead hire. State AU and LSU all field elite defenses this year. Bama will be there but may need time being so young. Good thing for them their offense is downright scary this season

Fitz is a Heisman candidate. He will be the all time sec qb rushing yard leader after this year. His passing will be improved this year
because we have improved talent at wr, and Moorhead's scheme will help him.

Our returning 1,000 yard rusher at running back is being pushed for the starting job.

We have the #1 juco wr coming in and more talented wr's.

We return 4 of 5 starters from a top 3 sec offensive line last year. Last year, we gave up the fewest sacks in the sec (5th fewest in the ncaa), 3rd fewest tackles for loss in the sec (15th fewest in the ncaa), and on 3rd and 4th down with less than 2 yards to go, we ran for a first down or a touchdown 84.2% of the time. That's #2 in the ncaa and #1 in the sec. Our offensive line is top 3 in the sec again this year.

We have 4 or 5 nfl draft prospects on our defensive line.

Leo Lewis has been our best linebacker in camp, Thompson is likely to have a big year, Washington and Gay are both talented.

We have improved talent at cornerback and 2 nfl draft prospects at safety.

You have a first year head coach. Biggest question mark there could possibly be. I doubt Fitz stays healthy.

Pay Herbie no attention.

He knows no more than anyone else.

Last year his preseason predictions were:
Alabama, Ohio State, USC, & Florida State make the playoff, with OSU winning it all. That's 3 out of 4 wrong.

His surprise teams were:
Texas, I guess he was surprised by that great 7-6 record,
Missouri, likewise their 7-6 record,
Wyoming, 8-5
NC State, 9-4
Notre Dame, 10-3

His prediction record matches that of a baseball power hitter, it's still under 50%.
