I am not in that group that thinks Nutt is a shitty coach, he simply isn't no matter what some delusional Hog fans think. But to include him in any list of offensive geniuses is just hilarious.

I never said he was genius.

Here are the coaches that were below him on the Offensive minds list from the SEC.

Spurrier- The game has passed him up, he has constantly underpreformed at SC
Rich Brooks - Defensive Guy
Bobby Johnson - Defensive guy
Lane Kiffin - A lot of people at USC thought he was terrible. We'll see what he does in the SEC

Saban - Defensive Coach
Chizik - Defensive Coach
Dan Mullen - Meyer's puppet, he could earn a spot here, but I'm inclined to give Meyer the credit.
Les Miles - No

So which of those belonged above him?

His offenses are about as basic as offensive packages can be. Sure he throws in a few trick plays, but usually either at the wrong time or they are executed wrong because the players aren't used to running anything but plain vanilla.

Don't confuse simple with bad.

Mack Brown nails it for me.

Interesting to note: Mack has only won ONE conference title while coaching in the ACC and Big 12.

2005 of course.

Lots of talent with no trophies.

I honestly think recruiting is the most important part of college football.

can't agree with you, man. all the talent in the world will never win w/o top level coaching and team discipline. you need good players too, don't get me wrong, but a team of 3 star guys with great coaching and discipline could beat a team of 5 star (in high school) that aren't coached up.

Ironic coming from a fan of the school whose last coach exemplified recruiting, but failed at everything else and got fired.

I agree and think Les gets a bad rep as not being an X's and O's coach which is not really the case.

He was the Offensive Coordinator at Okie St. before becoming the head coach and he was also the TE's coach and Asst.

Passing Coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys for three playoff seasons.

Most people think since he played on the Offensive Line in college he doesn't know the X's and O's of football but that is not the case.

He has coached every position on the offensive side of the ball either as a postition coach or a offensive coordinatior since beginning his coaching career in 1980 and you don't do that without being an X's and O's coach.
