Are you saying you think that the celebration is over for Auburn fans?

Just curious. If you think this were to happen, not saying it will be, but if...then why do you believe

Auburn will not be giving back wins or be in any trouble whatsoever

He will have been ineligible and lied to the NCAA. I don't understand the reasoning behind the last statement, again, IF he is found to have known and lied about it.

Can we just get 1 thread that everyone can dog Auburn, the players and talk about what bad people Auburn fans are? All of this shite is getting really old.

It was my understanding that they were doing the trophy presentation at Jordan Hare next Saturday. That sounds like a celebration to me. I guess I booked my hotel room too early, lol.

I just asked a question about a statement made. And I know you're one of the better Au posters, so I will say, in the nicest way I can and not meant in an a-hole kinda way... you're gonna need to grow some thick skin. This is the beginning. Bama went through this with Means and to a large extent, the Gadsden b.s. rumors that ITAT started. This is barely 2 months old and the speed of the NCAA will be measured in yrs. So long as things move that slowly, this is gonna be the subject of several topics a day. I know from experience. If it's a consolation.. welcome to the success, to the victor belongs the spoils.. lol

Yeah, I'm going to come out and say that nothing is going to come of the investigation.

Although, I've been saying that for a while. Some of that comes from observation, some of that comes from talking to people who are usually spot on for me and are actively involved in the program, but I really don't think anything happens.

Trust me patience is one of my stronger qualities, as is understanding but every thread on the SECr is about Auburn and how shitty it is. People have grouped the fan base in with Bobby Lowder and this whole debacle and its pretty ignorant.

Haven't we been dealing with this since October?

I didn't say that I believed that would happen...I said it is entirely possible. No one here knows whether or not Cecil, after being refused by MSU, then went on his own and found some shady Auburn booster and somehow got paid on the waaaaay down low. No one knows this anymore than anyone knows whether or not Cam was aware of his father's actions. Based on what I have seen, I believe that if Auburn paid Cecil, we would know this by now. That's just my belief and I would like to think that even if Cecil was selling to Auburn, that he couldn't find a buyer. BUT NO ONE KNOWS.

Scenario...best HS or JC player in the land has an "agent" looking for a buyer and seeks out the shadiest and wealthiest booster of YOUR school/team. Would you be 100% confident that he would fail? No...no one here is. And I don't suspect that any Auburn fans are 100% confident.

I negotiate for a living...and hearing that Kenny Rogers asked for $180K...then when the booster refused said "How about $100K then" says a few things. It says that it was an novice at the negotiating table and more importatly, says that the seller had NO leverage and NO other options. I can say with 100% certainty that when that conversation took place, they didn't have any indication that AU would pay $0.01. What happened after that, we can all guess. My guess is he scrapped the plan but felt snubbed and uncomfortable (like trying to kiss a girl on a date and she turns away) so Auburn looked more attractive to Cecil.

No, I know that there are a lot of Auburn fans still partying. Several of my best friends are Aubies and are still partying on. Just seemed that the nation focused more on the Bama celebration last year than what Im seeing this year. Remember , im way up here and west in Montana, I could be wrong. Just stating what Im seeing out this way. By the way Congrats from me to the Aubies.

I don't think it's over either. The USC thing took almost 2 years. I just think the NCAA moves too slow. Either kick it into gear or call off the dogs.

No program wants investigators hanging around for long.

Unless you are who they talked to, you can't be 100% certain.

As well as before that.

And that guess, is not any more valid than the ones guessing that Cecil continued to shop him. Even after the investigation is complete, the entire truth probably won't be out there, either way. In any case, his dad did decide where he went to Jr. College. His dad did approach Miss St for his play. His dad did decide Au was where he was going. His dad, with his permission 100% acted as an agent and should have made Cam as culpable as his dad with his actions.

Hey, the amount of Auburn fans crowing on here during your title run is directly proportional to the amount of crap you will have to take as the investigation continues. I do hope you are telling the truth when you say you can grow thick skin.

That's the rub. When we (State) went on probation in August 2004, it had taken over two years from the PLOI being issued to the final ruling from the NCAA. And then we were put on probation for what amounted to roughly $1,500.00 in improper benefits to potential recruits.

The Means case took about 4 yrs. The books took over a year alone and that was something that was self reported.
