Nice. A ten year old article from the New York Times written by a guy with a bachelor's degree in history that has never worked a day in his life at any level of education. You’ve been better in the past

Clemson is surprising me. I think it could end up being Oregon out of the PAC eventually.
But I think both Oregon and Clemson will be much easier to kick off the perch than a USC or Texas.
That makes no sense.
Texas has only won 1 title since 1970, and only has 4 titles overall. They finished 3rd in the AP poll in 1970 but still claim the title.
Clemson has 3 since 1981.

You think clemson is the upper echelon school?
It’s not, it’s right there in the middle with the rest of us.
It’s not Mississippi bad, but not UVA/Michigan etc good

Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa several seasons before the playoff system was implemented.

Says who?
Clemson is def. better than UVA for engineering.
How do you know how employers view Clemson compared to other colleges.

That’s comical. Right in the middle with the rest of “us”?
Please powderpuff. The closest thing you will sniff to a football national title is when your janitors pick up our used jockstraps when we cream your asses again this year.

I’m talking about Clemson’s academic standing not its football team bud
Doesn’t matter for you though, you went to North Greenville University

Because I have experience working.
In my field it’s right in the middle and not a “target school”
Hedge funds, investment banks, PE firms aren’t blasting down the doors at Clemson

lol
All you business dbags sound the same.
You got that US News ranking memorized like a soccer mom who is paying bribes to get her dumb kid into one of the top ranked ones.
I know there are Clemson grads working on Wall Street and at investment banks.
People can apply to jobs. Companies don't have to come to you.
Took me 30 seconds to google and find a Clemson grad working in investment banking in Chicago.

Didn’t say that. Saying that a 10 year old article from a journalist in the New York Times is not exactly what I would consider a scholarly journal. I also don’t pay much attention to any of the mainstream media.
At the end of the day you have to judge universities for their individual programs. Living in S.C. if my kid wanted stay in state and go into business or law I’d send them to Carolina. If they wanted to go be an engineer or some type of biomedical work I’d send them to Clemson.
College education is becoming kind of a scam. Too many kids go to college and get a worthless degree and can’t find a job. Specialization is now the way to go. Some of it can be done at technical colleges, some require bachelors or post graduate. Just depends on the individual.

Lol.
I'm sure most people thought that USC would never be stopped either, and look at them now.
Alabama and Clemson's runs will end, and then there will be a new crop of teams that are perpetually in the college football playoffs. It is what it is. The kids see these teams there every year and think they can be there too. Both teams sell this. But once Saban and Dabo move on, that allure is gone.

I was saying it’s not common

None of what you’re saying is wrong
It’s just that Clemson or USC are the top schools in my field and it’s very rare to find us in my field

How do you know this? I've yet to see you provide any evidence that a degree from Clemson makes it difficult to get a job in those fields.
What goes on in the UVA and Michigan classroom that doesn't happen at Clemson?
why do you regularly bring up academics on a sports forum

Someone else brought it up with the USNews article
I was commenting
At the firm I am currently at when we bring in our intern classes Managing directors tell HR to only look at resumes if they are from target schools. Unless they are legacy’s

in my opinion, you come across as a blue collar guy who gets his 'insights' from US News.
