Reaching the bottom of the barrel when trolling about renaming a highway. You do not have any idea how many Bama flags fly on that Hwy in Lee County.

That's a shame. It was always considered sort of a halfway point between ATL and Destin/PCB so people would randomly bump into each other there on the way to/from spring break etc.
All the taxidermy fish on the wall reminded you that you're going to Florida to the beach.
They always had the decoy cop car in the grass median when the highway merges down to main street, that's when you knew to get in the right lane to turn into the McDonalds.

Probably 25 years ago my dad, for some reason, allowed me to take his Sea Ray to Destin with my shithead friends. Trailer got a flat in Phenix City and wouldn't you know it, there's the tire shop. Funny that. They had us in and out in 20 minutes for a hefty "Atlanta Yankee" fee. I also almost sunk the boat on that trip in front of Jetty East. Lessons were learned. Maybe that's what my dad intended. But when people talk about 431 through Alabama, these are the things that come to mind.
Wasn't there also a restaurant called Kuzzins Kuntry Kooking with capital K's to let people know it's a certain type of establishment?
