^^^^Bitch OSU vs LSU one of the more boring bowl games if it happens. It is quite clear why LSU fans are on their bandwagon because they would be assured the BCSNC as it would be over by mid 2nd qtr.

I want osu over bama strictly for the epicness of the meltdown that bammers here would have.

LSU fans kill me:

Give something a less than 5% chance of happening and they call that a lock.

What does this mean? Really? I get that most people, including myself, think the SEC is a better conference. But after the top 2 (maybe 3-4 with Arky,UGA), there is a significant dropoff.

The top 4 Big 12 teams (according to record):
1. Okie State
2. Kansas State
3. OU
4. Baylor

Match them up against the SEC and I'd say the SEC would win at least 3 games.

Then:
5. Missouri
6. Texas
7. A&M
8. Iowa State

Match them against South Carolina, Auburn, Florida and Vandy. How many does the SEC win? One?

Then put Texas Tech and Kansas vs. Kentucky and Mississippi State. Not that it matters, but I guess the SEC wins those two.

Then down to Tennessee and Ole Miss. It is sad how bad they are.

It's not a "lock" that Oklahoma St wins and that VT loses. IF it plays out that way, it's probably a lock for Oklahoma St to play in the BCSCG.

I don't think it's less than 5% chance. Obviously osu has to do work but the fact that the gumps here disagree that there's any chance is what's gonna make it even better.

More than than the amount we need.

Maybe you missed it. It's 1 vote. They need 65. They MAY have 10 at the moment.

The Big 12 can't play defense. I can't match those teams right now. But I for one think the Big 12 is vastly overrated. With the exception of 2005, recent history has proven that as well.

55 to go.....and only one of you two teams plays this weekend.

Can you guess which team can play their way into the MNC? Do you think those kids will be fired up for that opportunity? I realize it's not the same as sitting at home on your couch.....

Is there any chance a voter changes his mind IF Okie State wins? (don't say 5%)

I ask because as it stands today, Bama is in great position to be #2. IF the scenario plays out, the voters will have to cast their votes one last time. They are not required to cast the same vote as last week.

The final vote will be based on the entire 2011 season.

No it's not.

Read this.

A straw poll of 10 media members who have votes in the Harris Poll revealed a wide disparity on where OSU ranks. The Cowboys are as high as No. 3 and as low as No. 7 on their ballots.

Even with the VA Tech loss, and their win in Bedlam, I still say OSU goes to the Fiesta. Which is what everyone else is predicting as well.

They haven't changed their mind yet. They still rank OSU pretty low. IF they change their mind, it will be to vote them 3rd rather than 5th or 6th like they have been.

That doesn't really convince me that the BIG 12 is so much better?

Maybe a little deeper 5-8 but even the Missouri, Texas, A&M vs South Carolina, Auburn, Florida, Vandy group you have isn't a sure 3 of 4 for the BIG12 is it?
I think Vandy is as about good as Iowa St for example???

I'm pointing out that the SEC isn't overwhelmingly dominant as in the past. The quality wins throughout the SEC aren't plentiful. I would say they would go 5-5 in those matchups with terrible Ole Miss and Tennessee being the difference.

No team will play a brutal schedule every year. If we are to evaluate a complete schedule, the quality wins components should have some consideration. If not top 40, I'd suggest top 20. To me, a top 20 win is impressive.

I get that and you've got a point. But I just can't past the loss to Iowa State. If they were ranked in the top 25, then I'd have the opinion that any team can slip up and get beat. But Iowa State is not a good team on either side of the ball. They were a 21 pt underdog. If you wanna claim that you're one of the top 2 teams in the country and should play for a NC, then a loss like that is unacceptable IMO.

If OSU does get in, how great it would be if they won - I wouldnt mind seeing the streak end in this case.
