Slaves were promised land and equipment by the US government but the slave owners were allowed to keep their land after reconstruction.
Every year, descendants of slaves and displaced Native Americans go before the courts to correct a great wrong in regard to land. Each year their case gets stronger and makes it further up the system.
Our whole modern economy was built on the back of slave labor. So it goes beyond the slave owner.

I'm not an alter. I see fans of non-SEC schools posting here and everyone seems ok with them.

I've never understood the ''but the Irish'' whenever slavery is discussed. The Irish melted into American society and black people were never allowed to.

To compare the Irish to Blacks is just dumb, period.
