But I'm not sure what that has to do with the strength of Alabama teams of the past. Unless they weren't going to play the same team. It was only the Alabama teams that were changing.
If Fournette had played against the defense this year, he wins the Heisman and LSU probably beats Alabama. Unless Tua decided not to turn the ball over.

LSU got the benefit of an untouched fumble, a punter who fumbled untouched and a QB who made a Jordan Jefferson quality play to end the half.

Tua's fumble gave us the ball at our own 12, we still had to drive the whole damn field.
Joe's fumble gave you much better field position than Tua's.
