Maybe not as familiar with Morris as I should be, but I seem to remember him being a very good coordinator.

we'll see the guy had two of his best offensive games as "Clemson OC" against us in 2011 & 2012 you can argue 2011 was because we had Ted Roof as DC! …...which is true hell if South Carolina or Florida had half of a offense to beat our D im not so sure we wouldn't have gone winless in October of that year

Gus will be fired before the year ends regardless of who calls the plays.

I'm convinced Chad Morris is the worst D1 coach out there.
That's not hyperbole.

Actually this is how he keeps his job. He called plays this year and had a decent season. He loses 4 O linemen for next season and AU will take a step back.
He will let Chad call the plays anc when they only win 6-7 games he will throw him under the bus and leverage firing his OC and “go back to calling his own plays” to keep his job another year. He has done this a couple times already

Best case scenario: Chad transforms our offense into a productive unit. Bo Nix competes for the best QB in the SEC. We have a 1,000 rusher and 1,000 receiver.
Worst case scenario: Gus gets skittish and at the first sign of offensive struggle takes the reins back and our offense runs back into the turf.
Most likely scenario: Our offense does just enough to win 8-9 games, but Gus is actually controlling the offense behind-the-scenes. Fans are left wondering why we even hired Chad Morris.

Congrats on your 115th ranked offense in the nation Auburn!

I kind of agree but tbf if Gus somehow wins the Iron bowl again this year, no matter what their record is, he will get another two or 3 years.

Nah worst case scenaeio is y'all get like 4 or 5 losses before he takes the reigns back. I guarantee you Gus will let him frick up at minimum 3 games before he takes the reigns back.

That is the definition of hyperbole. There are, what, 128 college football teams? Let's say they all average about 15 on-field coaches. That means you're telling me Chad Morris is worse than 1,919 other coaches.

If you said worst D1 Head Coach, I guess you could make a case for that - but worst coach? That's a bit of a stretch.

Did Ok in Clemson when he was there. He couldn't help it that Bert didn't leave him much to work with.

He took a historically top 30 all time program and gave it the worst two seasons in program history in back to back years. It's not hyperbole it's just debatable.

You can't blame back to back 2 win seasons on recruiting. That's called you can't coach worth a frick.

If it works out, great. If it doesn’t, some fresh blood would be a welcome sight for many Auburn fans. Let’s see how this goes.

As a Head Coach. There are plenty of excellent coordinators that absolutely suck at being a head coach.
