I have had Alligator meat before and it was delicious, I was a kid and we drove through Louisiana on our way to Texas. I have no idea where we stopped but I had Alligator tail and it was awesome.

There was so much gator being cooked at LSU on Saturday it was unreal. We had the gator girls that were tailgating with us eating gator

If you havent already, ask on the food and drink board, they will have plenty of good recipes. IMO start with a chicken and sausage as I find them less intimidating then dealing with a bunch of seafood.

wut you live in Bham and haven't tried Gumbo. There is a pretty legit cajun place off 280. The owners from new orleans are known pot heads, but their food is legit

Seafood gumbo is a lot different. It is easier to overbook seafood in gumbo.

He is. I know him IRL. His accent that everybody knows is a total act.

You could also try one of these places for some good gumbo:

Jubilee Joe's
2341 John Hawkins Pkwy # 150, Birmingham, AL 35244

Cajun Steamer
180 Main Street, Suite 200, Hoover, AL 35244

I've never tried it either, but I hate seafood... and pretty much any kind of fish except salmon.
