Both were the elite of elites; I would be inclined to say prime time was the better athletes of the two due to his longevity and not having a huge flaw in his athletic ability, career ending defect/injury.

Yeah that point has been mentioned. Deion never wowed anyone out there. Bo did.
And power hitters USUALLY have lower averages than gap hitters. This is not surprising at all.
Finally, consider that Deion played a lot longer than Bo - had a chance to mature as a hitter whereas Bo did not.
I'm sorry, but Deion was just not the baseball player Bo was, and not the athlete either.

Are you serious? Do you even know what happened to Bo? It was a freak injury.

Pretty sure they both spent 9 years in the MLB.

Both MLB stat lines are comparable and you could make an argument either way. But, even if you say Bo had a marginally better MLB career, Deion had a MUCH better NFL career.

Speed is about even.
Power goes to Bo.
Arm strength goes to Bo.
Hitting power goes to Bo.
What exactly is Deion better at?

Who is the better athlete today?
Leon Sandcastle? Or Bo Jackson.

Leon Sandcastle? Or Bo Jackson.

Deion Sanders played in major league baseball for parts of nine seasons: 1989 through 1995, 1997, and 2001.

1) Injury never forced him out.
2) Sanders was a football first guy. Bo Jackson played baseball until it was over and then joined the football team. Hard to accumulate stats when you play half the year.

Have you seen their 40 times? They are about even. Both were blazing fast. Bo Jackson might even be faster - we don't really know for sure.
I'm pretty sure that Deion's first 10 yards was head and shoulders faster than Bo.
And in football, it's the first 10 yards that creates the difference between a touchdown and 10+ yard gain.
Deion's speed transferred much better to sports than Bo. 162 game average was 70+ stolen bases per season on his career.

At the 1989 NFL Scouting Combine, Sanders ran a 4.27-second 40-yard dash, which was considered to be second in Combine history behind Bo Jackson of Auburn in 1986.[10]

I'm talking about in the pros, man. Sanders' priority was football. Jackson's was baseball.
