Apparently he's some dude in Louisiana that takes guys on visits to schools. Claims he takes them on visits to all kinds of schools, but it looks like he likes Auburn more than the others.

Seems to me that he's an Auburn fan, but I really don't know the guy.

LSU fans hate him though.

Nothing sketchy about him at all. He is a oil change guy at the Walmarks who has taken several young men under his wings to groom them and set them on the right path. All of them are interested in things like botany and have no interest in brutish sports. He started a non-profit which isn't recognized by the state of La. Other than that...seems to live a boring life.

He became an Auburn fan when Trovon decided to attend Auburn. He's supporting the kid, like he's done for a quite a while.

Here's the thing, Ross. I don't buy in to the tinfoil bullshite created by the ATPB crowd. However, I do seem to find it bothersome that AU is very much involved with folks like this guy and the guy up in Arkansas who did Pinnacle Sports. All wrapped in the cloth of Family and "just doing the Lord's work"...

He had to nail something... his ex-wife wouldn't let him do it. Word on the street is that's why he used to beat her, before she got the restraining order.

The fact that he had a domestic issue is germane in what sense?

Oh, and because this is TD..."She should have made the sandwich."

so you link a story that is on SBNation and we are considering this is fact because it is about Auburn? Nelson is Trovon Reed's legal guardian but he shouldn't cheer for the team that Reed went and played for? This is the stupidest logic that I have ever heard.

also, I think it is pretty funny that Auburn is the one's who get a bad rep about Facebook stalking but this whole article is written about facebook.

You dont find the whole situation with Greg Robinson a tadbit sketchy??

It's just nice to see the shoe on the other foot.

If people did two minutes of vetting on Thayer, they'd see he has a history of attempting to crucify [at the time] successful programs with poorly researched and unverified information. There's a reason he has fallen from one of the most respected newspapers in the country to Fox Sports.

Oh, and he hits women.

Not in the least.

I can see how a LSU fan, who is not used to seeing coveted recruits leave the state, can feel that way though.

The scorned are often left grasping at straws.

For the record, you guys didn't have a problem with Lorio pulling out all the stops to help LSU.

You could be right because the only other person to call me that word was my first grade teacher. After I finished my assignment, in which I was very proud of, I showed Mrs Flannagen my creative genius and all she said was "That's the most pathetic thing I have ever saw." Now only being six years old and not knowing what that word stood for so I took it as a great compliment. Later that afternoon in relaying the great compliment my teacher gave me. My mother explained to me the meaning of that word. That very moment I could have caved in to negativity but when you are right why worry what other people think about you. Most people thought Noah was crazy and look who was alive after 40 days of rain. So you see after all these years if I could meet up with my first grade teacher Mrs Flannagen all I would have to say is "as of today I have 5 U.S. Patents and I am involved in ground breaking research for a fortune 300 company so your negative words had no effect on me." I might never meet up with her again but when AU gets put on probation I will find you and point out I was right and you were wrong.

Oh, okay. So it isn't the message that is important...it is the author. Prior bad acts and such...

After reading your rambling diatribe, I stand by my previous statement.

You're better than that. I thought.

Reread my post.

It's the message AND the author. An author who has a past of presenting erroneous figments as facts.

Oh, and he beats his wife.

So, by your statement, I will take it that you agree that Lorio crossed the line in attempting to push kids to LSU.

THE ARGUMENT:

As a kid's coach, Lorio has the responsibility of doing what's best for the kid. Not what's best for Lorio. Not what's best for LSU. Once he stops trying to help the kid realize his potential... once he stops caring about where the kid wants to attend to school... he is acting inappropriately.

If he was wrong before, he must be wrong again. Always good to assume that.

As to the beating his wife thing...that is some low hanging fruit there, my friend.

I know Coach Lorio (Was my football head coach during middle school & some of HS at UHS). If a kid came in and had Alabama,Auburn & LSU on his list of schools. I would like to think Coach Lorio would try to keep this kid in state.
