Hasn't Donovan turned them down once already? I'm sure KY will offer him again after they fire Gillespie, but will he go?

He has. Remember Roy Williams turned North Carolina down in 2000. Just a thought. I mean, what in the world else can Dononvan do in Gainesville ?

Ya, if he was going to go, now would be the time. They just got out of the NIT, he's probably not real happy about it. The chances of him going this time are a lot higher than the last time.

Really? Even better than getting Mike Anderson? It seems to me, he's the best candidate we have a shot at.
Did I say anything @ Anderson? Jesus...

Sensitive much? You are overreacting a tad to my post. I was asking a serious question. I assumed you know what you are talking about in relation to bball. Most KY fans do and I would know I lived in KY for 12 years.

overpaying for a largely unproven coach imo. i like Grant a lot, but what has he really done?
Go back and see the players that he brought to UF. Those players that he recruited won back to back titles. What has Florida done since then?
Florida really doesn't have the athletes anymore. They have solid players, but not the same type of athlete that Grant recruited.
I do think that is a bit too much $, but hey, at least they are going hard at it.

Grant was very influential in Gainesville, but giving him total credit for the championships is a bit much. Donovan is a heck of a recruiter, and has possibly the top recruiting class in the nation coming in next year (another reason he wont be at UK).

I didn't give total credit. Yeah, Donovan is one hell of a coach, but most of the recruiting duties were on Grant.
You cant help but see the decline in athleticism and talent really since Grant has been gone. You have to admit that bgator85.

For those interested, from what I understand, Mal has given Grant until 12pm tomorrow for a final answer. He hopes to hear from him tonight...
So we should know tomorrow around noon.

I know someone close to Mal in the athletic office. This is what I was told, and I was also told that his wife was looking at homes in Tuscaloosa while they were in town.
Just seems like it's a deal but with this whole Kentucky thing going on now, you cant really put a finger on it.
It's just hard to believe that a coach would come down all day and visit if he wasn't at all interested.
IMO, I think Grant is our next coach--but with this UK crap goin on, my mind is just running circles.

He'll be at Bama unless the whole Donovan thing goes down. He's been wanting a major program and will take the first that extends the offer. Not to mention its not like Bama is Ole Miss or Auburn.

fa sho. thats why I think if it becomes open he heads there. I just don't know who else is on yalls list. I think it was you earlier that said Clemson and Miami's coach (could be wrong that it was you who said it) but I wonder if there are any other surprises. And kinda odd that UGA is being so damn quiet. I would think Grant would take a good look at them being so close to ATL and all.

I still don't buy the Knight to UGA foolishness. Maybe Billy Clyde to UGA?
