Good series this weekend for MSU baseball...

Good games gents. The crowds were impressive. I'm jealous of the attendance you guys get and wish we'd do something other than win to get more fans to our games.
It's getting pathetic to have the team do so well and get so little support. We really need to tear our facility down and build a modern stadium with all the bells and whistles. Sadly, I think it's going to take a building with shade, air conditioned seats and free beer to get it done. I'm for all those by the way.

That's the biggest problem with Florida's stadium IMO.

It's hot as frick and we don't get the benefit of the ocean breeze being so far inland.
It really is miserable to sit through an entire game this time of year.

Baton Rouge, College Station, Starkville are just as hot

I wish LSU would see beer at baseball games.
I think that's the one sport people could handle it and they wouldn't be tailgating and drinking all night and day. That would help attendance a lot around the SEC

LSU has a ton of shade. The outfield doesnt have any but the entire grandstand and SRO is in the shade.

What's up with MSU's turf batters box and baselines?
Seems a little jacked up to me. For a school with such a good turf management program, why can't they keep up with those areas like they would the rest of the field?

LSU has turf foul ground. It's pretty dumb.

Nope. Still an old pic. In fact it's even older than the first one.

0 for 3 but I was just joking. The box is the shite and has tons of shade.

I had you this time. I look the last one from the LSU website and was going to stand my ground and argue with you all day. I cleared my schedule for the day.
We need some dang shade in a bad way.

LSU isn't above using old pics. There aren't even stands in RF. So it's at least 3 or so years old.

Cohen had it installed to help our small ball game (not kidding)... It is awful and our entire offense, even small ball, still sucks.

quote:No amount of turf management can keep those high traffic areas from getting beat down by the end of the year. We put that in 2 years ago and it was shorter. It made for untrue bounces coming off the short stuff so they put in a taller version this year to give it a truer bounce (or at least that's the explanation I heard). I think most of the players like it. It probably effects the catchers the most because some balls in the "dirt" tend to scoot rather than bounce up into the mitt.

ETA: and it cuts field prep after BP and prior to game by probably one-half
