I challenge an LSU fan to gain access to the secret bar on Dickson.

Ask around at Club Fix Its accessed through a secret passage there.

Used to kill those cheap arse pitchers and get thrown out of there on the reg when we'd get rowdy. My buddies and I used to get kinda scary rowdy. You'd just have to say "boys y'all are getting too crazy" and we'd politely say goodbye and go on about terrorizing the 'ville. If they tried to force us out, good chance their bouncers were gonna get embarrassed.

I've puked in a pisser there, long time ago. Also saw Better Than Ezra play there, and my friends saw White Stripes one night I didn't go. Nobody had heard of them.

That little place used to pull in some bands.

Why do gays love lip-synching dance performances so much? I've been to way more than I care to admit, always seemed pretty boring to me, but there were always plenty of straight sorority girls to take home.

I've never understood it, either. I've seen the one at Xanadu, and its a big deal. Tons of people.

Fayetteville has always been liberal, but now we're the liberal end of a metro of 500k. It all gravitates down here.

I went in there on a sat. night in early 2011 to promote some concerts and the place was dead as hell. They were doing $1 beers and not a soul was in there. No band, no karoake, no music, nothing.

Did it change ownership? Brian Crowne has really f'd over anyone trying to do anything with the music scene in NWA. He'll book a band once or twice a year but make them sign a no-compete with a huge radius, pay em shite, but if you want to play at George's that's what these booking agents will do. Of course the agents don't tell the bands about the cash Crowne slides to them to keep their clients from playing anywhere else.

I know I'm getting older but Dickson St. does not seem to go as hard or be nearly as fun, of course the cops don't help with that at all either. I've been really lucky having a ton of friends on FPD's force that'd give me a ride home or come talk to me before I did something stupid.

I like to joke that after I left the women of Fayetteville turned 40% lesbian. They didn't have any choice.

Srsly, tho... there's lots of lezzies in Fville. Lots.

Hopefully we'll have a good reason to celebrate friday night. Have fun corndogs, my cousin will graciously book you into Washington County.

Dickson probably has more bars than ever, but its increasingly becoming "lowest common denominator" bars with not as much live music, because of exorbitant rents and paid parking, etc. Its tougher for a dive to make it, and those were the most fun. In the past, dives just were, and just happened.

Its also more of a hassle than ever to just go to Dickson, find parking, pay, etc. Hardly anybody has pitchers anymore and lots of places are just downright expensive.

Now we have bars promoting themselves to hipsters as "dive bars", etc.

I think Dickson is pretty fun still, but I am getting too old for it. The median age in this town is 28.

There's definitely a large gay population, especially for a relatively small city in the South.

The town at large is by far the most liberal in Arkansas, exception being little ole Eureka Springs.

It will be interesting to see if town is dead or happening on Thanksgiving night. Its been a long time since we had a ballgame in town the day after Thanksgiving.

I've noticed a lot of places advertising they are open Thanksgiving night.

All I need to know is where Wild Turkey Wednesday happens now that Doc's is long gone. We did it at EC when I worked there.

Easily was one of the top 5 party nights in Fayetteville.

Tickets as low as $17 on stubhub. Your fan base sucks almost as bad as your team. Still looking forward to the trip though and exploring some new areas
