But seriously 5/14 teams last year scored more than 14 points against us. Of them, 2 scored 21 or more. Why is it so unreasonable to think that the gators will see similar if not better results than last year, when we returned everyone on defense?

One, because this isn't last year. Two, because unlike last year, most teams will be improved on offense.

LSU fully expects to be better on offense. I see UF's offense as being weaker this year without Harvin and Murphy, who IIRC accounted for 75% of your offense last year. The Gators will also be working with a reshuffled O-line.

But we'll see when you get here.

florida's best is better than lsu's best. lsu does not have a higher ceiling than florida.

beating them at your place does not clinch a victory in atlanta at all and does not make people homers for thinking florida would win the rematch.

you suck

And you stay "classy" as always. really.

While you are right and this isn't last year, most teams tend to lose things from year to year. Our entire defense returns therefore I would say it is perfectly reasonable to look at last years results defensively and expect pretty much the same thing this year.

In terms of the offense, Harvin and murphy did not amount to 75% of our offense. In total we lost about 40% of our offensive production last year. Considering both of our RB's were freshman, and some wide receivers came on for us at the end of the year against bama and OU, I think our offense may slow down a bit but by the time we go to baton rouge should be working well.

In terms of our O-line we lost 2 starters. The reshuffling as you put it is actually a move to bring an outstanding freshman to center and allow the pouncey twins to play their natural positions in guards. This should absolutely not be a big deal that will slow us down at all.

I didn't even realize you guys had such a terrible schedule either. Throwing that in the mix definitely stacks the odds in our favor especially considering we are coming off a bye week. Ask UGA fans how gators play after bye weeks.

alright well LSU last year put up 21 on your defense in the swamp. With the game being in Tiger Stadium and LSU offense probably being signifcantly better this year, we could put up in the ball park of 28-31 if everything Crowton tries works well and I think our D this year can hold Foirda in the twenties.

ETA: This is best case scenario for LSU I think.

I know this will never happen, like theres a greater chance BT admits JL sucked last year, but what if we just kill Florida. Thought I should throw it out

We should have the tools to beat them, but florida should be nothing short of awsome this year. This game is gonna be epic like in 07.

yeah if you've got lsu beating florida, i would think you have them going undefeated and winning the title.

SO, Ole Miss should have been undefeated last season and won it all?

My point was with your defense being what it is, there is only a small room for improvement. Whereas the SEC as a whole will be better offensively, while the Gators have come back to the pack on offense.

As I see it, LSU will be greatly improved both on offense and defense, while UF will be even to slightly better defensively and slightly worse offensively. We'll see to what degree the Tigers have improved and the Gators worsened on 10/10.

I like our chances in that game, and if there is a rematch in Atlanta, Jefferson and the defense will have had a full season of reps and will be even better.

sorry but its gonna be an upset for anyone to beat Florida this year and i dont think theres any way we even possibly beat them TWICE. Maybe once and it more likely to happen in Baton Rouge, but beating them again in Atlanta is a stretch. If you sincerely believe that it time to take off your purple and gold glasses.

I gotta see how good JJ plays and what their D looks like in the games prior before I can make a guess about the UF match.

If LSU does beat the Gators in TS, I don't think it's unreasonable to believe they'd win a potential rematch.

I'd take LSU's offense over UF's right now, straight up. The more time JJ has behind center, the better that offense will be.

The more time the Tiger defense has in the new system, the better they will be as well.

Bottom line is, Tigers have more room to get better. More first year starters, a different defensive staff.

If LSU plays their best game, they can beat anyone on their schedule. Conversely, anything other than their best game, and they can lose to any of their opponents.
