Yes this should be in play ... if its good enough for the NFL it should be good enough for NCAA/College
Well then the correct sequence would be to change the rules and THEN start enforcing the new rules as opposed to enforcing a rule that does not exist in the NCAA. Otherwise, the SEC would be setting the precedent that they can suspend a player for a LEGAL hit anytime they want to just because they don't like the looks of it. Is that a precednt that you want them to set?

thats why Bama ran for like 7 YPC or more this year. You guys don't believe in blocking the defenders. Is that what you crybabies always refer to when you say Bama was "holding."

Seriously?
SportsByBrooks? Most of that was false.
“The only thing being done at our school is rye grass seeding and top dressing of the field to fill any holes, which is standard practice when the (Florida Citrus) Bowl Committee rents any facility,” the athletics director said by e-mail. “Nothing is being done in the locker rooms. We did vacuum them, though … maybe that will be breaking news.”
“You’re basically putting sand and peat down on certain areas of the field,” Hogan said.
Said Hogan, “Alabama’s practicing at a site that we’ve been using for years for our college teams, and they’re assigned to that site.
The site fee for use of the school’s facilities is paid by the bowl, not by UA.
Hogan said the only thing Alabama is doing above what the bowl normally provides is having temporary shower facilities installed for the week. UA will be charged for the rental fee, and the showers will be removed after the bowl week.
“In no way have we been asked to do anything that any other school hasn’t done at one time or another to improve the practice facility,” Hogan said. “There’s not anything that could be left behind or improve the school in any shape or form other than to have a successful practice. It’s simply a one-week practice thing to use while the team is there.”

I agree this is what we should do

No I don't ... I just want to hear all gumps say it was H2H and it was a cheap dirty play to target them opposing team's QB
I would be happy then
To concede to Gumps it was the right call and "legal" hit

Thread is getting hijacked but a couple of points:
1. I think we all agree that even if everything SbB claims is true, it is not even remotely close to any type of recruiting infraction
2. How are the reported upgrades to the high school supposed to even be an inducement to the recruits to go to Bama? "Bama painted the showers at my high school locker room (which I'll never even use again since I'm a senior), so I'm going to play for them the next several years instead of the school I'd prefer to go to". Sounds plausible.

Chase Goodbread of the TUSCALOOSA NEWS reported Monday that Alabama coach Nick Saban said the upgrades were “common” and being done in the interest of “player safety.”
But if that’s the case why didn’t LSU make similar, significant upgrades when it practiced at Dr. Phillips last year before the same bowl game?

Maybe LSU didn't want to pay for the players' removable showers?

I'll give you 2 out of 3. It was definitely H2H and he was targeting the opposing QB

.GIF of Dial hitting Murray.
It doesn't matter what he led with if he made head to head contact. Head to head in that context should be an ejection, no questions asked.
That .gif does not help your cause.
And you're a Notre Dame fan? What about all that smack you guys talk about how Notre Dame students are smarter than SEC students? You must be an LSU or Auburn fan in drag. You obviously can't even read the rule book, which has been posted here a plethora (that means a lot) of times.

NONE of these apply to QBs trying to make a tackle.
Do you really think he was trying to make a tackle?
Yeah, well shite happens when you jog half-assed on a play before the whistle when you just gave the ball to the other team.

Stop arguing with Gumps - can't you all see that its a total waste of time? In their minds their players can do no wrong and they are willing to argue forever about it.
The hit was dirty - period. The Gumps are not going to convince any of the rest of the SEC fans otherwise. Trying to make some of these Bama fans put aside their bias to look at the tape and think about it is not got to work. They are incapable of overcoming their preconceived notions.
