If you look at the schedule Oklahoma played vs Georgia. During Oklahoma’s streak they beat the #1,3,8,12,12,14,15,15,19,and 20 ranked teams. Georgia over their streak had beat the #2,3,8,10,11,11,14,14,20,21,22,and 23 ranked teams. Not much of a difference. So using your logic Oklahoma also avoided ranked teams which led to their success

Oklahoma did not have the luxury of hiding behind a Big8 East.

Why are OU fans getting bent out of shape over this

Because it's a made up record that nobody has ever cared about the 47 game win streak is the only one anyone talked bout until ESPN started this bullshite this year for ratings.

You might want to do some research on this. During your streak the Big 8 was awful. Texas best year was 7-3 they had seasons of 1-9,4-5-1,and 5-5,and 6-4 Nebraska. 3-6-1,6-5,5-5,4-6,and 1-9. Kansas. 2-8,0-10,3-6-1,3-6-1,and 5-4-1. Missouri. 6-4,4-5-1,1-9,4-5-1,and 5-4-1. Iowa St. 2-7,3-6,1-7-1,2-8,and 4-5-1. OkSt. 7-3,5-4-1,2-8,and 3-5-1. KSt. 7-3,4-6,3-7,3-6-1. Colorado was clearly the 2nd best team over the streak with seasons of 6-4,7-2-1,6-4,8-2-1,and 6-4. Not exactly a gauntlet of conference powerhouses.

Good thing we have 2 of those in this time period

It’s still impressive. It’s a stat that means Georgia is pretty damn consistent with contending for championships. I’m not sure why you had to make a thread about this other than insecurities. All CFB fans know about the 47 game winning streak by Oklahoma. What UGA has done is still just as impressive considering the era we are currently in.

disagree with football being harder. At one time the sport was so brutal is was almost banned. The colleges had to create new rules to make it safer.

Hers the story of the mother of a UGA player who got killed in a game that saved college football...

Because Ga. PURPOSELY set up a schedule to avoid them? You gonna also blame Fl. for avoiding Alabama or Tenn. for avoiding LSU?

Texas was never in the Big8 and Oklahoma was so dominant then that they knocked the rest of the league down in the rankings.

The only good team Georgia played during that span usually beat them. Explain that.

UGA has 2 losses to Bama in this streak.

If OU could similarly just ignore their losses to ND in their streak then they would have 69 straight games without a loss.

I guess it’s okay with me if you want to diminish your own 2022 team that couldn’t beat a depleted uga team.

I believe the Big8 had integrated by that time but I'm not sure. The B1G had done so decades before that. When did the SEC?
