Are you implying a loss to #1 LSU (doesn’t matter the score) is worse than a loss to Kansas State?

The way we lost the game....yes. I mean, you could argue that had we beaten SC and played LSU close we might have gone. And we might have. But the way we lost made the SC loss immaterial. We weren't going to the playoffs with a loss like that.

I agree y’all probably get left out anyways, but saying you wouldn’t even be in the conversation seems to be a coping mechanism

Always a possibility. I mean, in threads like this it is all about:

"I think...."
"I feel..."
"We might..."
and on and on. People can say we would have made the playoffs all they want, but it would all be speculation.

The one thing we do know, is no team has ever been beaten in their conference championship game and gone on to the playoffs. I guess it could happen at some point, but taking into consideration the score, I just don't see us getting in over Oklahoma even if we had beaten SC.

This is not meant to belittle what SC did to us. It was a great signature win for Muschamp and SC. You guys looked great against us.

The day the playoff seeding was announced, a committee member admitted they STILL compared 2-loss UGA and 1-loss OU just to be thorough.

I'm sure they discussed Oregon, as well, but that doesn't mean they had a reasonable chance. The was LSU beat us, it would have crated a storm if they had put us in. Two SEC teams after one just took a shellacking?

Being thorough and being seriously considered are two different things.

UGA would 100% have been in the conversation had they had the same record as OU

Conversation? Sure. Seriously considered? Absolutely not. It takes extremely special circumstances for them to put two teams from the same conference in the playoffs. Getting beaten half to death does not qualify.

Well with as badly as LSU ended up beating you all in the SECCG I think then the SC loss doesn't matter.

That's my point. Maybe if we had played LSU really, really close...then the SC game might have been the difference in keeping us out. Hindsight is always 20/20.
