Georgia has never been top of the conference, so how exactly is that something being restored.

Not to mention you still aren't.

The trophies for the last 2 SEC titles would disagree mightily

Absolutely. That's why the announcers during the game called it out, Georgia fans immediately cried foul, and the national conversation regarding the game has been primarily about how the officials could possibly have missed that call. It definitely isn't something Georgia fans came up with two days after the game was played because they're feeling super insecure about their win on Saturday. Not a chance.

Its absolutely due to the fact that bad calls happen so often that most fans bitch about it in the moment and move on because there is another bad call to bitch about. They are like buses, they are regular and consistent. When it happens at the end of a game it is akin to the bus not showing up for its last run...you can bitch about that one until the next one comes along the next morning (next game). Bad calls are part of the game. If you have more points at the end of the game you overcome them.

The one that everyone is up in arms about was on second down, was it not? Alabama could have picked up the first down on third down or they could have scored. UGA made a play and Alabama punted when they should have had confidence in their offense and picked up the first down, or scored a TD. They did not do that because UGA won third down.

There are 16 teams in the conference, 10 of those have been in the conference since the beginning. UGA has won the conference championship more than any of those 10 teams other than Alabama. UGA has not been at the top but UGA has been as close or closer to the top than anyone in the conference other than Alabama. There is no question historically Alabama is the best program in the conference. For the rest of the conference UGA has been as successful and argubaly more so than everyone else. That is "at the top" of any organization.

Not true. I called it out on Sunday after watching the highlights. 18 then had the gall to prance around like he’d picked it off.

It was talked about in the in game thread and on the broadcast. The difference is it wasn't at the end of the game and everyone moved on. Alabama failed to do so, took a sack and then had one of their players let his "I am bigger than the team" ego cost them any chance at winning the game. HIS coach said as much as he came off the field - you can easily read his lips. Individuals can only control what they do. The officials missed the call, for whatever reason, and it happens multiple times a game. Alabama could have picked up the first down on the next play. They failed to do so, in fact their brilliant but young QB took a sack when the only worse thing he could have done was turn the ball over. Alabama then had a choice to punt or go for it. They gambled and punted and ALMOST got the ball back...then one of their players made a mistake just like the officials did and the game was over. It happens. It would be better if it did not but it does.
