I think most AU fans have been cool to him. It's Jeff Lee and his propaganda that makes people say he was "guided" by his parents. I know his mom likes Saban & Bama and favored that spot for Geno, but he seems to communicate pretty clearly that the decision was his.
Lee can't bring himself to think that Bama could be AU straight up on a recruit. I don't understand why that would be hard to believe. I can believe that AU can beat us straight up. You are talking about two top 10 programs. Wins some/lose some.

I hope coach Cochran is ready to put in the work on Geno. Once he does he should be pretty good

Lee's a dumbass if he can't see that Alabama can beat AU for a recruit. Alabama has been doing that for a long time. Auburn is going to get their fair share, but at least in-state Alabama is going to get most of the top prospects. I realize Geno Smith is from Atlanta, and that changes things, but the point still stands.

Huge pickup. With Menzie, Phelon and possibly Kirkpatrick leaving we really need a few decent CB commits for this class. This is a great start.
