Gary Pinkel submits late hit on Franklin for review

Everyone knows it was a dirty hit when players from Georgia are going around before the game and saying things like “He's a quarterback. If he comes my way, I'm going to try to kill him. That's just it,” Georgia safety Josh Harvey-Clemons said.
Pinkel told the Columbia booster club that it was among one of “a bunch of plays” Missouri sent to the SEC for evaluation. Franklin scrambled out of the pocket and flipped the ball out of bounds left-handed but came down hard on his shoulder under Georgia defenders Amarlo Herrera and Jordan Jenkins.
“The great thing about the SEC is they do a great job with the officials to make sure they get it right,” Pinkel said. “We have a process. It’s a good process, and it’s thorough.”
Franklin said he’s watched replays of the hit. Was it a clean hit?
"It doesn't matter" he said.

You should put a video gif of the hit in question in the OP.
From the OP all I can see is that the Georgia defenders had the right attitude about wanting to hit the QB and that Franklin and Pinkel are being pussies about the game of football.

Well, Herrera didn't land on him. You be the judge on how late. You guys got Murray WAY late after that in the 4th. Aaron is just tougher than Glass Joe Franklin

Normally I would agree, but given the quote Josh Harvey Clemmons gave, and the fact that Georgia gave James Franklin a shoulder injury last year and the players appear to target the same shoulder on the sack it's dirty

Thanks for the gif. Definitely a clean play. Not even a simple late hit, thus no flag. Franklin should either toughen up or learn to throw the ball away soon enough not to get demolished by big football players.

It was a pretty cheap shot. Ball was out and Herrera (who got flagged for a late hit on Mauk later) tried to lift and drive Franklin into the turf.
You can defend it by saying no flag or whatever. I wouldn't feel good about defending it if it was my team doing it.
