It seems like that would be the best from a long term standpoint. Recruiting will suffer, but it seems like a lot of people are too hung up on the players that are there right now and preserving the Petrino momentum than thinking about finding a coach that will be able to use the players you have now AND build his own legacy.

Yeah the whole "someone you know" comment makes me believe its going to be an interim.

I hope not. One year recruiting down the drain could really hurt us couple years down the road.
Also, we are a much more attractive program right now. Any prospective coach after this year is going to be looking at a football team that is losing Wilson, Hamilton, Davis, Johnson, Gragg, DD Jones, etc...
We will be rebuilding and the search might not be as easy as thought.
If we can't get Gruden I wish we would just hire Davis.

I should have added earlier, if by chance, albeit a small chance this fall through, Paul Petrino will be named Interim HC.

So has it been confirmed or not that the Gruden will be touring the facilities tomorrow?

I haven't heard anything about it, but I haven't asked about it either. I know the aar0n dude on HV is saying it.

Maybe, maybe not, but he is entertaining the thought of it. Jeff Long is known for pulling rabbits out of his hat. People laughed at us when we said Petrino might come.
If Long can get this done we know he also has a golden dick.
