Actually I don't believe we are getting Gruden. I'm hoping Arkansas will hire Butch Davis.

Yep, pretty much. The owner of Foghorn's does or used to post there. They used to do hogville watch parties there. Some guys on the board are obsessed with it and others make fun of it.

A Petrino offense along with a Butch Davis defense could be interesting.

The Bright Star is a great little cafe in Bessemer, Alabama. You can pretty much guarantee when a coaching search is going on, that someone saw Mal Moore or some booster talking to a popular coaching candidate over a nice Trout Almondine. Steve Spurrier was supposedly there in December of 2006.

Davis can recruit, but he's done it at places that have great in-state talent. I would also worry about his NCAA issues. He might not have been implicated, but Arkansas is already dealing with the wake of moral issues.

True but that doesn't mean he won't be able to recruit at Arkansas plus he could do well recruiting Texas.

I think at this point with our recent success you have to roll the dice and hire him if we want to keep building the program up.

I think thats just a rumor started by some UAB fans due to Long's comment that a coach will be named in the next week and that its somebody you know.
The somebody you know comment can be interpreted so many different ways its not even worth thinking about.
I just don't think we go that route.
