why? How big does a conference need to be? 16 is already too many, 12 was perfect. I'll never understand people's incessant need to continue growing conferences until it's just the SEC and Big 10 each with like 48 teams. It's insanity.



You are correct but the Big 10 would love the opportunity to recruit and mine prospects from that hot-bed known as Florida. The SEC will [at least] consider it as a defensive move to keep the Ryan Day's and Jim Harbaugh's out of their reach.

Miami and Florida State would be "must-haves" for the SEC. Them, Clemson, and North Carolina. Let the Big Ten have the academic schools.

TV contracts will set the stage. FSU on its own will not work for the SEC. Would have to add another state to the mix. North Carolina is the crown jewel.
