John Skipper is a moron who has had a weird fixation on PPV for the last two decades. It's all he has ever talked about.

Yeah, they’re forgetting: at the bottom of all this it’s state universities and private not for profits. Where is all this money going?

These aren’t private businesses.

The whole business model these days is monetizing any and every service that you can.

Pretty soon Kohler will require 10 cents per flush at this rate.

There has to be some kind of parable that illustrates the negative outcomes of unrestrained greed but I’ll be damned if I can think of it at the moment.

To some extent we put up with it because it increases availability. There are a lot of college sports on tv today because of cable/streaming.

We’re a little spoiled, but I’m old enough to know I can see a lot of games now, I wouldn’t have seen 30 years ago. If I want to watch Texas play Louisiana Lafayette from California…yeah, maybe I should pay a little.

This is a pure money grab though. Taking a game there’s no reason to put behind a paywall and charging people money to watch state schools and private nonprofits play sports.

If they want to officially kill college football as we know it then that’s a way to go about it.

grew up listening to most games on the radio. I did that for most games in the 2023 season as well.

It's not bad IMO.

I grew up doing this also. Even now I sync the radio with tv to avoid idiot announcers. Back in the day before all games being on tv it was kind of magically listening to the radio. Having the radio guy paint the picture for you.
