I don't know if Nutt was really that lazy. Just set in his ways and had a massive ego that ended up having the same effect as being lazy. I don't think Nutt was ever trying coast like Bert

Nutt wasn't as lazy when he first got here but that changed after the 2003 season when he got the two year pass as he didn't deserve it. However he is responsible for botching the 2000 recruiting class and is responsible for the SEC limit on classes signed per year.
Nutt wasn't trying to coast as much as Bert did but if he won a certain amount of games and his job was safe then he would coast for the rest of the season.
Either way his work ethic was poor and he stayed way longer than he should have which boiled red hot after the 2006 season.
