This describes exactly the atmosphere at the game.

The Peach/Chicken Bowl has usually been an ACC puppy champing at the bit to finally got a shot at a big dog from the SEC, while the latter struggles to find any motivation. If it were Kentucky, the roles would have been reversed

Clemson chicken bowl wasn’t even a blip. People hardly remember it.

1/9 started the downfall of Les. That was one of the best teams in history and it was crushed into the ground on the biggest stage in a rematch with a conference division rival for all the marbles in the Superdome.

Les was never the same again. He was mortally wounded that night.

Relative to Clemson, yes lmao. Before 2012 you were Arkansas but in a weaker conference. Your super bowl was something LSU didn't even want to go to. I understand you want to believe history began in 2015

Good point. Most #1 teams are hot garbage.

You're as dumb as the OP.

That game was the launching pad for Clemson’s success. Recruiting really took off and the rest is history. Looks like LSU just did the same at Alabama this year and is primed to make a deep run to continue the return to dominance. It’s already showing up in recruiting over the last 2 weeks.

LSU controlled that game until late. That loss is 100% on Les Miles.

Considering we haven't had a losing season in 2 decades while changing coaches 3 times with 2 winning NC's and the current having his team ranked #1 I'd say that constitutes Big Dog nomination at least.

No other team in CFB can claim anything close.

Of course it crushed the soul of LSU as a program and it DID launch Clempson on the run they are still enjoying. LSU took a hit and the fan base turned on Miles.

Agree or disagree, that game changed the trajectory of both programs. This year, LSU is finally climbing out of that effect that game on LSU and back to where it was prior to that game.

I was sitting by a lot of LSU fans that night, really nice people. I remember one guy looking at me and saying Miles would mismanage the clock.

This is such a pathetic troll. If you're Kentucky (or Clemson before 2015), playing in the Peach Bowl is a big deal, if you're LSU it's not. People were justifiably upset at Leslie after the BCS title game and it went downhill from there. Agree that it launched Clemson from also-ran to contender though

Dude no one really cared or even remembers that game. Your theory is off.

Everyone remembers 1/9. Les was never elite again. It was THE seminal moment in his career at LSU.

Chicken bowl meant nothing. LSU won 10 games and won the Outback Bowl the very next year. It was a better year than the year before.

To suggest the chicken bowl loss to Clemson was the greater defining turning point instead of 1/9 is just dumb.

Mike, share with us Marty Moore's heroics for Kentucky vs Clemson in the 1993 Peach Bowl? Kentucky hasn't played in too many bowls so it shouldn't be hard.

Going to the Peach Bowl was crushing if anything. We had SEC and NC in sight before the Bama game

Lulz, I was in the locker room with Marty after that game. What do you want to know?
