I just think you're a dumbass who doesn't understand how things work is all. The 2 things are not connected the way you think they are. If football goes into the shitter it's only going to make things worse on the other sport, not better.

At the end of the day there is a reason all you can do is cry and say lame shite like "FOG" and try to say people aren't "real fans".

And you’re someone who doesn’t care about the University of Alabama but just Alabama Football. It goes back to what Pat Dye said. You are what I believe Clay Travis calls.... the 88 percent

If more fans cared about other sports and attended and supported them. That would be less money that We have to take from Football to fund them, thus giving your precious Football more money

The fact you blame other people for the problems only highlights your ignorance. Because it's the peoples fault they don't enjoy basketball? It's a terrible sport, extremely corrupt and the refs have way more influence on the outcomes of games than any sport I've ever watched. And yet the ONLY time I watch it is when it's Alabama.

But guess what? It ain't got shite to do with the problems of the basketball program. You're just a dumbass who needs a scapegoat to rage at.

Was it that enough fans weren't watching football when Alabama decided to hire Mike Dubois? Franchoni? Mike Price? Was it the fans fault when we ended up with Mike Shula because nobody else wanted the job? Do you even remember getting turned down by Rich Rod?

No, what the frick happened in football was we hired a good coach and then everything else followed. It ain't about throwing money at shite and it's dumb to think spending more money on Coleman is going to be the factor that gets us into the tourney every year. The resources for those goals already more than exist.

How extra fricking stupid do you have to be to think the fanbase is a zero sum thing where if that "88%" disappeared Alabama would suddenly become a basketball school?

Pat Dye and Clay Travis, now there's 2 people opinions on the Alabama fan base I really care about. You didn't have any good Tosh quotes to go with it?

Seriously everyone gets your point, but Springs sports have ended, thus ending the athletic year for our schools and we would like to talk about it.

And if you don't think other sports matter, here is a little story about a former walk on baseball player at UF that may enlighten you.

If not, happy 4th bud!

How can you accurately judge the overall athletics department while knowingly ignoring such a fact?

It's apples and oranges.

No, it isn't. To a regular fan their favorite sport is important. I get how important football is to college athletics, but this is gauging the overall department. it is not rating individual sports...it is gauging an entire sports department.

It's not that hard to understand. They are not ranking the sports. They are ranking the department overall.

Well this article was over the past 5 years etc and ranking everything as a whole rather than individual sports.

I never said other sports didn't matter or anything close to that. I also really don't give a crap about the actual rankings if I'm being honest. But people want to throw around the FOG word and I like to rip them for it.

Football only Gump I believe. Because you can only be a "true fan" if you watch and spend all your time at every little sport a school has.

Saban was promised all of these renovations and upgrades to our football facilities before he produced on field results. Technically they have done the same for Oats but I will believe it when I see it

Now we are getting into semantics because you defended the guy who said the list is shite and so forth and so on.

At the end of the day, there are plenty of threads about football and no one argues that it is not the king. Can we have our threads about other sports without being constantly reminded that they don't matter as much?

Like my father always says, that is why they make chocolate and vanilla.

BTW, I can't wait for football to start!

Nothing was really required for Saban to start winning games. Updates to most things didn't happen until after he was winning.

There is no reason why Alabama shouldn't be in the tourney every year right now, and the reason why it's not happening have nothing to do with spending on Coleman and everything to do with coaching hires.

You don't weight sports when talking about an overall department. read the words. Overall. Not just one. not just the popular ones. Not just the most lucrative one. ALL of the sports. It's great that Alabama is so good at football. In my opinion, Alabama is the greatest football school in history overall. That means all your titles count. It doesn't mean Clemson gets the nod because they have own the last 2 out of three. It means all titles count equally.

Now, if you were to weight titles, obviously you would give more credence to the most recent ones. Do you want to crown Clemson as the greatest football school ever because they have been dominant lately?
