What if they don't meet again? Basically you are saying Texas and UGA should not have met for the SEC Championship. UGA already beat them and there was a possibility of UGA winning again, so give them the title.
If Texas had won the SEC Championship no one would have had an issue. In the previous format no one stopped watching when Bama and UGA played for a National Championship in 2021. Bama beat UGA to win the SEC and UGA beat Bama to win the national championship. Should UGA not been allowed in the CFP that year? Bc they were not conference champions?

How many times was a conf. champ left out of the previous format?

2017-Ohio St, USC
2018-Ohio St, Washington

This is such a terrible take. There are routinely conference "champions" that aren't the best team in the conference. You have tiebreakers that prevent better teams from playing in the ccg, and then non conference losses of course don't factor in to determining the conference champion. In fact, the existence of non- conference data is a very good reason to NOT go with conference champions only.

Why do you want less football? I'm enjoying the heck out of the extra football. games.
I cannot believe the number of people on a COLLEGE FOOTBALL forum that seem to be genuinely upset that there are now more games than before.
I loathe the transfer portal and NIL.
But, I love all of the extra MEANINGFUL games.
Who gives a damn if there are some routs. Go back and look at the NFL playoff history. shite happens.
IMO...The only things people should be upset about concerning the playoffs is:
1. The seeding procedure...which will be resolved next year
2. The first AND second round games should be played on campus
3. They should start the playoffs the FIRST open weekend in Dec
4. Get rid of the byes and conf champ games (or incorporate into playoffs as suggested)
If the extra games are so irritating to someone, then maybe they should just not watch the games......

How many times do we need to have the same match ups and include these unworthy teams? So, we will watch UGA and UT play once again and call it a national championship? It all could have been over by now.
Everyone also knew you had to play 15 or 16 games to win a Championship this year.
BTW, it is over. For you.
