Fans of teams that have never won a national title have no clue how enjoyable it is to watch a team that you follow close win a national title and it becomes an even bigger emotional connection if the fan attended the school.
I know Wisconsin fans that I live around and talk with on a regular basis just hope for one shot at a national title. They don't even expect to win a national title, they just want to play in one of them so they can experience it before they are dead.
Wisconsin fans and Missouri fans have a lot in common, but Wisconsin has done more than Missouri and Wisconsin doesn't lose to Indiana like Missouri does.
I know Wisconsin fans that I live around and talk with on a regular basis just hope for one shot at a national title. They don't even expect to win a national title, they just want to play in one of them so they can experience it before they are dead.

Poor Missouri fans melting since they have never won a national title, have not won a conference title since 1969, their head coach is a drunk and has been arrested or driving drunk, they get blown out in conference title games, and so much more.
Missouri football is one of the worst football programs historically in all of college football.
Their obsession of the Big 12 is at a high level. All you need to do is visit their message board LINK and there will usually be one or more threads about the Big 12 on a daily basis.

I haven't even gotten into their historical beat downs on an annual basis and how it is caring over to the SEC against the powers of the SEC.
For a century Missouri got destroyed in the Big 12 and they can't get over it. They are obsessed with every Big 12 school and they spend more time on message boards of schools that are currently in the Big 12 or former Big 12 schools than they do on message boards related to their own conference.
Heck, their Rivals boards has a daily thread about Big 12 schools....
