But we have nearly a century of history with LSU and Arky too, and they've been better partners to us recently. Wouldn't be right to undo a good thing built on mutual competition with two other historic rivals just because the whiny bitches that took their ball and went home finally realized they fricked up.

Well that makes a lot of logical sense, I have an understanding of how you feel.

The way I've seen floated around is what I think works the best, which is Ole Miss, Miss St, LSU, and A&M. Then, OU, Tx, Ark, and Mizzou. OU, Tx, and A&M in the same division just creates too tough of a division leaving LSU with Mississippi and either Ark or Mizz. No disrespect to those schools, but the TX schools and OU will recruit too well for that, to leave LSU with too much of a competitive edge. So that's what we'll end up seeing, I'm quite sure.

Why is this rivalry so important

Not sure you’d understand as LSU has no rival. It’s an important game to the State and to most fans of both schools. I don’t care who we play outside of OU for similar reasons. My larger point is calling out Aggie for down playing its importance for dishonest reasons. We have each other in our fight songs and Aggie sways to saw off UTs horns. Basically every tradition they have is built around not being UT. It’s a big deal despite what Aggie has told you

They kinda do though. See Boxer's post above. A&M/LSU has turned into something real.

Kinda sounds like you never moved on after 2011. It's ok. We're pretty great. We understand your difficulty accepting the realities of our new life.

All honesty I never found Texas vs A&M that compelling

You are correct. Outside of the state of Texas it wasn't a big deal.

I think the nostalgia for this game is misplaced.

A&M's game against Bama in 2012 and their game against LSU in 2018 were incredible and had the whole nation talking.

Can you recall a Texas vs A&M game that ever had anything approaching that?

If I was A&M I would try to preserve that Thanksgiving weekend game with LSU at all costs. You will regret it if you switch back to Texas.

We are talking about 100 old rivalries here? OU was always the biggest. Texas-A&M was more of an instate thing that divided the entire State. Eat Thanksgiving watch Cowboys and Tex-A&M. Aggie was not really a national brand till SEC move but yeah it was pretty big deal lol. Neither school needs it for branding or validation now cause A&M has put themselves on map. But they shouldn’t act they they’ve suddenly moved on or somehow Texas needs it more cause our football team has been shitty. Both schools have down played it past 10 years but it was only due to conference split and ill will.

The only ones I can recall were 1985 (Start of the dominance over t.u.) and 1999 (Bonfire game).

As I've posted before, both A&M and t.u. have been both ranked in the final AP poll only 13 times. Only once (1941) were they both ranked in the top ten.

Im dealing with kids got it. Yeah I guess it is a nostalgic thing and I’m old? A&M-LSU can keep it cause 2018 was awesome game. That’s cool. I get it. Every team should have at least one solid rival

the 3-2-2-2 proposal from SECN wins my vote.
I seriously doubt it. This is what I'm hearing. It'll probably be 3-4-1-1. Each pod rotates and faces a different pod each season. Two pods make one division for that particular season. For example, in season 1 Pods A & B would be a division. C & D another. The following season, AC a division, while BD is another.

Season 1: Pod A vs Pod B & Pod C vs Pod D.
Season 2: Pod A vs Pod C & Pod B vs Pod D
Season 3: Pod A vs Pod D & Pod B vs Pod C

It may seem confusing at first, but it's actually quite simple, and it will allow everyone to face each other three times every six seasons. Obviously you play fellow pod members every year. For everyone outside your pod, it'd look like this:

S1: Home
S2: Away
S3: -
S4: -
S5: Home
S6: -
S7: Away
S8: Home
S9: -
10: -
11: Away
12: -

There you have it. The most likely pod scenario, unless they elect to have permanent opponents outside of pods.

I mean so it makes sense that Aggies moved on from being a side piece regional draw?

Lol we both deserve a main rival not a side piece

I would say Ole Miss is who hate the most though. Not sure if they hate State more.

Yes. Perfectly fine. I completely agree. But don’t give some crap about the 3rd longest rivalry in college football being some old nostalgic thing that means less than a few good games between A&M and LSU lately.

If it was so important both sides would have protected it

A&M/LSU goes back to the 1800s, and weve played more often than not over the years. I think 60ish meetings in the last 100 years? It's not like we're trying to make something out of thin air here.

Did you really believe all the BS on horn boards about our entire existence revolving around UT? And us all sitting at home all season waiting our ONE BIG GAME against the glorious longhorns? Sorry. That's bullshite. Always has been.

We'll play UT. And beat you. Badly. But I don't want to sacrifice our other rivalry games for it.

Again. You have no rival. The hate was strong and you clearly do not know the history of A&M. I’ll say it again...every weird tradition they have came from a place of not being Texas or showing how they are better and a closer community. Hating a rival is one of best parts of college football. Our rivalry just got too heated lol. Looking for a cause? 150 years of extreme UT arrogance and straight being an a-hole combined with Aggie inferiority complex spanning that same time period. But I guess cfb is now more about rooting for a conference so you can chant SEC that pure hatred of another team you’ve played for over 100 years. Like I said...I guess I’m old.

You clearly know nothing about A&M either...wtf?!? Yes lol. It’s all Aggie had. You just started watching football in 2011 didn’t you? Whatever. I’m out keep spinning your bullshite Krampus. A&M-LSU are legendary rivals guys.

You really did buy into the bullshite. Wow. I know nothing about A&M? Well, my multiple degrees from A&M and all the years I spent on campus say otherwise.

Sorry your bullshite narritive doesn't line up with reality. But that's a you problem. Not an us problem.
