Nobody played more than 10 regular season games until 1970ish. Some teams only played 9 regular season games until 1950ish. Plus there were ties. It used to be a lot harder to win 10 games. (If you played 9 games it wouldn’t even be possible.)

Missouri added to them, just not in the way you're thinking.

Bama never was that big???? Talk about FAKE NEWS.

Well, let's take a look at the FACTS, Moo Breath...

TEXAS

From 1893 to 1957 (Royal's first season @Texas), Cows With The Dangling Tits had a grand total of 2 seasons in which they'd won at least 10 games.

Cows had won ZERO national championships.

NEVER went to a bowl game until 1942. N-E-V-AH!! Went to 7 bowl games TOTAL up to Royal's arrival.

Royal won 2 national championships.

ALABAMA

From 1892 up to the same year Royal arrived @Texas, Alabama had 6 10-win seasons. Texas = 2

Bama had been voted #1 5 times by the time Royal came along. Texas = ZERO

Bama had been to 12 bowl games by the time Royal came along. Texas = 7

Royal and Bryant's teams met only thrice with Texas winning both...21-17, 17-13...and one tie, 3-3. Yes, Royal "owned" Bryant.

But, don't give the fake news that Bama didn't do much before Bryant came around. They did a HECK of a bunch more than Texas did.

Texas actually had a higher win % than Alabama through 1957, according to stassen. Texas was .70057 and Alabama was .68647. UGA was .60512.

Uh, excuse me...both Alabama and Georgia played in the old Southern Conference and then the SEC...Texas played in the now defunct, then debunked SWC. Playing in the SWC was akin to playing in a Canadian high school league.

Number of times current SEC members were voted #1 from 1869-1957 per NCAA records = 23

Number of times then-SWC members were voted #1 from 1869-1957 per NCAA records = 8

Look at what kind of a league Texas played in = Romper Room and Friends.

The polls didn’t exist until 1936. Even if an SEC team won every national title from 1936-1957, that would only have been 22 national titles.

Are you sure, young man? Are you absolutely positive???

Helms Athletic Foundation, 1883-1982
College Football Researchers Foundation, 1919-Present
American Football Coaches Association, 1922-Present
AFCA Blue Ribbon Commission, 1922-1949
Berryman, 1920-2011
Billingsley Report, 1869-Present
Boand, 1919-1960
Caspar Whitney, 1905-1907
Dickinson, 1924-1940
Dunkel, 1929-Present
Houlgate, 1885-1949
Litkenhous, 1934-1984
Poling, 1924-1984
Sagarin Ratings, 1919-Present
Williamson, 1931-1963

You seem really angry at Texas. Like we did something to make you upset. Maybe fairly recently.

I love the state of Texas...I just can't stand the University of Texas, a football program that had only 2 seasons of winning 10 games in a year until Darrell Royal showed up in the early 1960's and had never won anything until Royal showed up, yet they act and speak like they've owned college football ever since it was started.

I'm well aware of the teams like south Carolina and Vandy has a winning record vs Texas. I honestly don't mind. But at the end of the day you are a Georgia fan. TEXAS OWNS y'all leg humpers. Quit hiding behind other teams skirts that's very Aggy like. Perhaps I should post the gif of your leg humper mascot getting owned by bevo to remind you who's in charge here.
