Surely you know know where UAT comes from right?

It's what they called your university after labeling yall serial cheaters.

UAT at least has a ring to it I guess.

Straight from the NCAA on Alabama:

quote:

serial repeat violator" with an "abysmal infractions track record" and an "extensive recent history of infractions cases unmatched by any other member institution in the NCAA," in responding to the textbook appeal

Yikes

Thank GOD Oats replaced the white collar Tuscaloosa Coaches Credit Union with guns and ammo so there are no disillusions as to how evil that program is

RIP

Outside of that, yes schools like Auburn, LSU, Florida and Tenn can claim prominence by looking long into the past. Like a very LONG extension into the past including the newbies, OU and Texas. LSU is the only team in recent years that has any room to talk about prominence out of this 2nd tier group.

But again, that is people focused on the glory days when in reality all these programs, other than GA, are all fighting for prominence. So that is the reality of the world in present times.
Texas literally just played in the playoffs several months ago. That's not prominent?

Dude I seriously think you might be mentally disabled...

Winning in college football football has been about money for a long time now. Money and landing the right coach - primarily because of his recruiting ability. The players might move around a bit now but the same teams that have been funding $20,000,000 staffs and ridiculous facility upgrades are still going to continue to win.

The only thing NIL and the portal will do is hurt the feelings of fans who want Johnny Heisman to love their school as much as they do. Even though he didn’t love you before, the illusion was a little easier to maintain.

Sure, but the NCAA could play selective filter when it wanted before. Auburn got a near death penalty just for handing a backup $100 when he came begging with "starving" wife and infant in tow. SMU practically had their program killed. When the SEC had a Vol as commissioner, even bama went on probation. In a state with massive money and political connections to the Universities like Alabama, the media tended not to be curious about any allegations or evidence of wrongdoing while in states like Florida or California, the risk level was much higher.

Now there is no filter. It's every booster for themselves and may the biggest check win. Coaching? How is a top coach supposed to build anything complex on a roster that turns over every season? How are they supposed to coach bluechip talent that is out the door when they're not good enough to immediately crack the starting lineup? How do they build depth when every program will be fighting over their second and third string players to fill holes every portal window?

Forget defense. Forget schemes. Forget discipline. What you're going to see is a handful of teams that can afford to build a team the traditional way and a glut of teams with high school schemes entirely built on offense. The level of play is going to drop precipitously, eventually so will viewers and then so will money. Maybe then the NFL can buy themselves a real developmental league.

Explain to me why you think it will be a brutal year? I think Florida will surprise with 7 or 8 wins this year laying the building blocks for a contender in 2025.The offense has considerably more talent than the last two years.

Dude…lay off the pipe.

Your schedule is brutal.

Please point out the 8 wins on that schedule.
