Finally, the courts are beginning to come to their senses but will probably end up with five is what and all you get going forward.

Should be obvious to all but a few here that this model is already forming now in college football.

Some benefits:

Players can start at lower levels like JUCO, Division II, FCS, or Group of Five programs and then move up if they perform well and improve.

The transfer portal, immediate eligibility, NIL money and extra eligibility years will make this all do-able possible.

So, as more teams are added (you know they will even if they can't really afford it), there are more roster spots which gives the late bloomers and overlooked players a real path forward.

Lower levels will act even more as development grounds where players get game film and experience instead of sitting on the bench.

Coaches will recruit more and more from the portal because college game tape is safer than projecting high school players.

This is what Cignetti has mastered and Lane Kiffin is already at the forefront of.

So in away, this could create a player movement system that would be similar to relegation but for players instead of teams.

Power programs become the finishers that take the proven players while smaller programs become feeders that develop talent.

Will suck for high school kids though:

High school recruiting at major programs will shrink and will only focus on elite prospects.

Most of these players will enter the system at a lower level and move up over time if they're lucky.

The NCAA has almost no ability to stop this due to legal pressure and reduced control over transfers and eligibility.

So, overall this system favors players by giving them more chances, money and control but it will make breaking in at the top level harder for high school seniors.

I'm very sorry this post was not about Lane Kiffin or Pete.
