bullshite. I've been there for other games too. Bunch of jackasses sitting around in their sport coats and bow ties smoking cigars like they're Winston freaking Churchill or something.

The key is to fake an injury as soon as you step foot in the grove and they will love you

It’s packed, shoulder to shoulder, with tents…other than that, it’s cold chicken fingers and chandeliers…
If you like that sorta thing, you will love it…
I’m not saying it’s good or bad, that’s just what it is…

I hear they only serve chicken fingers at the tailgates.

I’ve been to Athens and seen what y’all call “tailgating” and it’s pretty lame.

A few hundred people scattered across campus. Low energy tame and boring.

As a rule..

The strength of the tailgating scene is inversely proportional to the size of the entertainment district located close to the stadium.

Ole Miss doesn't have an entertainment district next to campus. Georgia has downtown Athens. The bars and restaurants there are in direct competition with tailgating activities.

Pay one of the Ole Miss pours $50/head to stand under a popup tent.

Eat cold chicken tenders with silverware and a fine china plate while Sally Lee from Quitman tries way too hard to be fancy.

Get yelled at by some Super Ole Miss nerd for being at "his" tailgate and eating "his" food.

Go to game in high school stadium.

Sit in terrible traffic trying to get out there after the game.

Ole Miss has the best tailgate atmosphere I've ever been to. You'll love it.

Thanks. If you were underwhelmed, I have no issue with that. Other than the lie about a “few hundred” scattered across campus. It is a big campus and there are many thousands stretching from South to North campus. Definitely not the best in the SEC but I don’t claim that.

Just letting the OP know to be prepared to be let down. People are friendly but the scene is lame. Tents packed in way to densely and the over abundance of finger food sucks.

lol you’re not getting a spot in the grove if you haven’t planned it out yet.

This is true. LSU Fan here who's been to the Grove with Ole Miss in-laws. Ole Miss is not a giant spread out tailgate scene like LSU or Penn State but the Grove is frickin awesome IF you are with someone already in it.

Otherwise, don't walk around that cramped cluster frick in opponent's colors.
Tailgate on the perimeter and just enjoy the show watching how pretentious and well-dressed some of their fans are.
.
I took this picture walking up to the Grove in 2007.
It's like walking into a packed bar where the walls are a sidewalk around the Grove.
It's even worse now that they won some games.

It's like being at LSU. But not in a parking lot. With less obese girls, fewer people wearing crocs and PFG shirts, and better bourbon. Better campus. Shite stadium.

Hope you enjoy.

It is a great place to party

If you like chicken fingers and boobs you will be in heaven

If you expect good cooking, you will be disappointed
