It's not really a benefit. I'm not sure if it's a huge detriment either.
A bye to have 14 days before your next game is useful. But UGA is going to have a 26 day gap between their last game and their first playoff game. That's nearly 4 weeks.
It's a bit much to be helpful. Very different from the NFL.
An accelerated playoff would be great without any other changes.
Championship weekend would be December 6th.
First round games on December 13th.
2nd round games (with bye teams) on December 20th.
Semi-finals on December 27th
Finals on January 3rd... or thereabouts if you want to shift it to a Monday or Tuesday to avoid the NFL.
The bye would be useful to rest up but not a month long to get rusty.
