I'm sure its true. Certainly if there is a rift between Saban and Moore, the board will stand behind Mal. Afterall,he's the one who also brought in Franchione,Price and Shula. Keeping a legend like Mal is more important that a nomad like Saban.

Good Lord, if I didn't have a self imposed ban on listening to that douche, I would turn it on just to hear the wackiness. Finebaum is just.....ahh, words fail me.

I59, you're a student of the game, doesn't it surprise you that Mal has kept his job all these years?

Would you rather have a senile old coach like Mal or a brown nosing, ball licker like Jacobs as AD?

It really is hard to believe. Like most SEC schools they have tried to keep an "old guard" guy around as AD like Joe Dean at LSU,Vince Dooley at Georgia,Dye,Warner Alford at Ole Miss and so on.

Mal is no kid and his wife is very ill with Alzheimers.I'm surprised he wants to stay. He's going to be 70 later this year.

The guy hit a bottom of the ninth grand slam with Saban and then throw in Grant and he's going out well.

With that said bringing in a new AD with Saban will be tricky. Saban will in all honestly report to Saban so you can't have some bad arse come in acting all tough.Still you have to have a strong person, too.

Well, Mal is 1-4 in finding a good coach, Jacobs is just now coming to bat.

+1

finebaum himself NEVER starts the rumors... his show is caller driven nearly 80% of the time (and that's no exaggeration). so billyjoe bob-bubba calls in, and he LETS them take the airwaves and get their point across... and nearly every show he'll just cut someone off because they're not making ANY sense.

yes, the callers are screened, but not for intelligence.. only for slant. or the really good ones that start rumors like these.

i absolutely LOVE how it gets to TD though. i find this as entertaining as some of the callers.

alahunter saying it just gets old sometimes.... that rather falls short to the pain i experience when attempting to NOT change the channel. some callers.... honestly make me cringe... sooooooooo frustrating at times.

yeah right what?

finebaum has an article. that's what's left of his journalistic side.

yes he runs a soapbox for men... but i can guarantee you he starts nothing with his own lips... now i didn't say he wouldn't perpetuate a scenario for the sake of fun...but STARTING a rumor... not so much.

Grant was actually a Dave Hart hire as he runs the show in basketball. i dont think Mal had anything to do with it nor the snub of Mike Anderson

Yes he did, the man hasn't coached a game in the SEC yet, so the jury is still out.

Hey, we are Men's swimming champs again...ok, seriously, I am not a big Jacobs fan, but as far as judging how good a coach Chizik is, I will have to wait for a year and see what he does.

we do have to wait and see but you have to admit it that the hiring isn't looking great. Anything can happen but when yall fired tubbs I was thinking a big name coming in not 5-19
