so they did advertisements claming to be an alternative with real sports talk instead of having retarded alabamians calling in to have phone fights with eachother, then they hired arguably the worst duo ever in radio to fill the afternoon slot, then they bring finebaum over...that station makes me scratch my head.

It's hard not to sound homerish when Bama was in the SECCG and all of the hype building up to the NCG while auburn wasn't in a bowl. I'm not flaming, just making the point that Bama was in the spotlight more than normal the past couple months

I thought it was known for quite a while his contract was up soon and he was going national?

You're not going to get that with the JOX Round Table

Round table is the best show on Jox.

The Opening Drive and Finebaum were the only two shows on that station that did wall-to-wall college football coverage every day.

If you think Finebaum had wall to wall football, you're crazy. Granted, football was the predominant sport discussed, but the show was about 35% football and 65% jerry springer.

"Let's go to robert in waterloo"
"roddy poo daryl..roddy poo roody poo roody poo darylllll. Daryl is the worst caller he's a roody poo"
"you got that right robert"
"crimson tide is the best"
"no doubt robert"
etc. etc. etc.

"let's go to tammy"
"PPAAAAWWWWLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL it's time you listen to me about AUburn! Cam was innocent and is Godly and Auburn is back I'M TELLING YOU PAUL"

"Hey paul what did Iman say earlier"

"Hey paul what did legend say earlier"

"This is charles allen head making some gay fricking rhyme and I'm old"

etc

The Round Table is the best show on JOX by far IMO. They do taper off of CFB talk a little but most of the time it is good informative football talk.

This. But that's why if you are going to listen, don't take it seriously and just listen to laugh.

Exactly. Why I stopped listening a long time ago. I really could not care less about hearing caller after caller talking smack about other callers.

I would agree that the Roundtable is by far the best show on JOX.

The Opening Drive is possibly the worst show on radio.

Looks like he's going national.

He's been national on satellite radio for a couple of years. He's joining 97.3 in Birmingham, but will have to wait three months to start doing shows there. JOX is totally fricked, shocking they would let him get away. The RoundTable is a great show, the best JOX has (Finebaum included) but I doubt it'll compete with Finebaum on the other station. The Opening Drive on JOX is garbage and brutal to listen to and I'm sure whatever they put in midday now will be average at best. Basically, whoever has Finebaum will succeed in Birmingham, and JOX signed their death certificate when they let Finebaum get away. Pretty shocking considering that they've been destroying 97.3 in the ratings battle ever since 97.3 was launched.

Totally agree about the Opening Drive. I like all three of those guys but their show is horrid.

True. I'm more surprised really that 97.3 has even survived this long, much less having the ability to offer the world to Finebaum to get him away from JOX.

As much as I despise Scarbinsky as a columnist, I find myself listening to him instead of the Opening Drive

You Alabamanese, gump, and Auburn fan alike, all claim to hate him and don't listen, yet he is incredibly popular. I find it hard to take any of y'all seriously when you have access to the internet, and can listen to whatever you want, yet this man is still on the air.
