I get that but the tickets were sold. All the sports report tickets sold. I think it is more uniform way of doing it. Getting a turnstile count correct is just about impossible. I know they scan tickets but even that can be incorrect if the scanner doesn’t work properly etc.
The school does realize the ticket revenue but of course no shows hurt the concessions profit. And a lot of empty seats never looks good on TV or for the players either.
Overall well done by 13 of the SEC schools and a shout out to USM for being in the top ten.
Good baseball program in Hattiesburg.

The size is appropriate given the fan interest in the team.
If we added 2,000 seats, we might get a couple hundred more people at each game on average (mostly from visitors). Heck, when I was a student I went to a lot of non-headline sports events (womens basketball, womens gymnastics, swimming, volleyball) because it was free entertainment. I never went to a UGA baseball game.
I did go to a UGA baseball game after graduating once. But I went with a South Carolina fan who was travelling to the game in Athens and asked if I wanted to come along. I went mainly because their tailgate food was awesome.
