The whole fanbase was excited after those blowout wins over Akron and Alabama State. I heard a friend of mine who is a normal person call into a radio show asking about a path to the playoffs after beating Ole Miss. They are desperate and delusional.

The way Auburn starts games makes me think Harsin has the goods to prepare a team.
But those 2 halves….

Really?

Auburn's recruiting under Gus:

2017: #9
2018: #12
2019: #11
2020: #7

2021 Shared class: #19

2022: #32(But I'll assuming probably finish around #20).

Now lets do UCF over the same period of time.

2017: #55
2018: #62
2019: #60
2020: #75

2021 Shared Class: #58, higher than most years.

2022: #36. Only 4 spots behind Auburn while being a G5 directional school.

That's right. UCF is only 4 spots behind Auburn in recruiting currently. And that's because Auburn has dropped off considerably since Gus left, while UCF has risen considerably since Gus arrived. I'm not going back and looking, but I'm guessing it's a safe bet UCF is about to pull in their best class ever.

UCF's win% this year has also improved over last years.

UCF is clearly trending upwards under Gus, and Auburn is clearly trending downwards without him.

TL;DR: You're either in denial, or you're an idiot. Take your pick. Your boosters paid a shite ton of money just to hire a worse coach.

Sounds like Auburn needs to hire Gus as recruiting coordinator and leave the coaching to someone else

So Bo Nix breaks his ankle, they play 3 bad halves of football, and now Harsin is on the hot seat? This whole thing is getting out of hand. They looked good at times this year. They’ve rarely been good enough to survive bad breaks during a season.

Still not a downgrade.

So, lateral move? Even worse.

Plus the huge buyout!

I would respond by saying he still beat your favorite team, but you're a shitty alter who clearly is a Bama fan, so...

And FTR, I don't think Harsin is on the hot seat, although the MSU meltdown and the recruiting struggles are definitely not positive signs.

However, if rumors that AU's AD is actively seeking employment elsewhere are accurate. ol' Hars may find himself on the Joe Moorhead career path...

His team did get hosed, so he should get some grace.

Just stop.

Harsin will be fine. Gus didn’t recruit linemen for years. Harsin will right the ship and turn things around.

Stop reading the rant for your breaking news and weather, dipshit.

They wouldn't be bowl eligible if not for the refs making bad calls in their favor in some games.

But I do not think he is on the hotseat. If Auburn fired a guy after 1 season, it would do even more harm to their program because what quality coach is going to want to take that kind of risk? 1 bad year and they fire you?

Not going to happen. And that's before considering all the buyout money directly after paying so much last year.

Auburn is stuck with him for 2 more years minimum. Maybe fired this time of the year in his 3rd season. It would take a 4-8 season to get him fired next season. Maybe 5-7 or 6-6 depending on the recruiting class strength.

This can’t be true. 3 weeks ago Paul Finebaum declared him coach of the year.
