In this day and age, probably.

You read it wrong.
I said that you have a good OL with lots of experience (all seniors) and the defense was serviceable, AT WORST.

2014 - 8...5
2015 - 7...6
2016 - 8...5
2017 - 10..4
2018 - 8...5
See no reason why this season will be any different than the new norm under Gus. 8-5. I could see an upset of Georgia happening.

Most AU fans have AU going 8-4 or 9-3 regular season
On paper this year is tough to figure out. Veteran lines, good defense, freshman QB, Gus reclaiming playcalling, brutal schedule.
Hard to fault anyone predicting 9-3, 6-6, or anywhere in between

Some are but it's far from everyone. They've got everything you need if this Nix is a souped up Fromm which he is rumored to be. He's not your normal freshman. Two strong dog lines and a damn good secondary with great speed at WR.

Not sure why AU's defense is getting so much love. The DL will be good not great just like every year under Steele. Big difference is we have no depth on the DL this season. AU's defense was bad in 6 of the 8 SEC games last year and before anyone says the offense was continually going three and out you should know that it just wasnt the case. Yes the offense sucked but AU was actually one of the best teams in the country in not going 3 and out. I do think the offense will be better and Bo Nix will be a star pretty much from the jump.

They may shite the bed but we have much more depth on the DL than usual so I have no idea where you get this.

I see Auburn’s OL being improved. There’s elite defensive linemen with some pass rushers ready to break out. Secondary looks very solid. Solid QB options.
The offensive weapons are going to be utilized much better this season I think. They’re gonna be running the ball every which way and hitting RPOs to catch defenses looking in the backfield.
I’m probably rambling idk I’m tired

Probably want to ignore whatever this guy says.

If you say so. All the practice reports I've seen have been pretty conclusive that Bo has been the more accurate QB and looks to be the starter. Just staring by the fact that all this week he has been the first QB to take snaps.
I know a lot of people are rooting for Gatewood but all reports point to Nix being the starter and I'm almost positive that is what we are going to hear in the next day or two once we start Oregon practice.

Well maybe next time we'll estimate them

Honestly, Auburn is at their best when everyone underestimates them. They are usually terrible when they have high expectations

We have a talented "run stopping" DL , but we are thin at tackle for "known" experience. We have a couple of pass rushing "possibilities" but they haven't played consistent to date.
The LB's are"young" although they played well in spots last season, TWill has earned the benefit of the doubt.
The DB's are are talented, but we lack a "known" shut down corner.
The OL improved last season but never played "elite".
The speciality positions are on par with SEC level talent, but there is no "transcendent" player.
The QB is at best a guess...we have a kid with physical tools that Gus has succeeded with and we have the best incoming freshman that I can remember but it's "Gus", so who knows.
I truly believe if we could trade schedules with 12 other SEC teams we'd be a 10 win team, but we are Auburn and we have our schedule. It is what it is!

What I'm frustrated about that virtually no one has mentioned is the perceived talent at WR that has gone completely AWOL. We have had some of the best WR classes in the country come in and nothing to show for it yet. Yes they have speed, but we can't have success at the QB position without receivers that can catch a ball that hits their hands. The Arkansas game with Sean White comes to top of mind as a good example.

Meh, green QB's get ya beat on da road. Think Gus is fired this year.

This tells me two more seasons of 7-8 wins before another 10+ win season. Joey/Bo’s senior year.
Gus won’t get that long.

I’ve heard Nix/Gatewood get compared to Fromm/Newton and Sean White/Jeremy Johnson.
Reality is probably somewhere in between, but it’s hilarious.
